*UPDATE- TROOPERS INVESTIGATING FATAL MOTORCYCLE CRASH (BEAR RD. AT EAST FANTAIL CT.)- NEW CASTLE

New Castle– The Delaware State Police are investigating a fatal motorcycle crash that occurred sometime between the evening hours of Sunday, June 21, and the afternoon hours of Monday, June 22.

The 2011 Harley Davison Motorcycle operated by a 53-year-old Pennsylvania man was traveling westbound on Bear Road east of Fantain Court, New Castle. For an unknown reason, the operator failed to maintain within the single westbound lane, crossed the double yellow lines, across the single eastbound lane and onto the shoulder. Once off the roadway, the motorcycle struck a road sign before it entered into a wooded area. The operator was ejected from the motorcycle before it came to rest in the wooded area.

Bear Rd between Fantail Court and the entrance to northbound State Route 1 was closed for approximately 2-hours as the Collision Reconstruction Unit processed the crash scene.

*TRAFFIC ADVISORY* TROOPERS INVESTIGATING SERIOUS MOTORCYCLE CRASH (BEAR RD. AT EAST FANTAIL CT)- NEW CASTLE

New Castle- The Delaware State Police are currently on scene of a serious crash involving a motorcycle that occurred at approximately 3:05 p.m. on June 22, 2020.

As a result of the crash and ongoing investigation, the intersection of Bear Rd. at East Fantail Ct.  is closed at this time. Motorists are to use caution and seek alternate routes of travel. SR 1 is not impacted by this crash investigation.

Troopers Seeking Public’s Assistance with Locating Domestic Assault Suspect- Wilmington

Wilmington- The Delaware State Police are seeking the public’s assistance in attempting to locate 34-year-old Shannon M. Henderson of Wilmington, DE, who is wanted for felony domestic assault.

The incident occurred on June 21, 2020, at approximately 4:50 p.m., when Troopers responded to the 2600 block of Lancaster Avenue, Wilmington, for a physical domestic. Troopers learned through their investigation Henderson was involved in a verbal argument with her 33-year-old girlfriend. The argument escalated, and Henderson used a pocket knife she had in her possession and cut the victim on her right forearm, causing a laceration that required medical treatment.

Troopers have been unable to locate Henderson who currently has active warrants out of Troop 2 for the following crimes:

  • Assault 2nd Degree (felony)

Troopers Investigating Shots Fired Incident-Magnolia

Magnolia- The Delaware State Police are investigating a shots fired incident that occurred last evening.

The incident occurred on June 21, 2020, at approximately 8:14 p.m., when Troopers responded to a residence in the 800 block of Millchop Lane, Magnolia, in reference to a shots fired complaint.  Upon arrival, it was learned that four occupants were in the residence, a 44-year-old female and three juveniles, who were all seated in the living room when a loud noise was heard.  Further discovery revealed that the front window of the residence had been struck by a bullet.  There were no injuries as a result of this incident.

There is no suspect information at this time.

Troopers Seek Public’s Assistance in Locating Shooting Suspect Edward Palmer-Greenwood

Greenwood– The Delaware State Police are currently investigating a shooting incident and are seeking the public’s assistance in attempting to locate 19-year-old EDWARD PALMER of Felton, DE, who is wanted in connection.

The incident occurred on June 20, 2020 at approximately 8:36 p.m., when Troopers were dispatched to a residence in the 10000 block of Memory Road, Greenwood, in reference to a shooting.  Upon arrival, Troopers learned that Edward Palmer had responded to this residence in an attempt to locate his ex-girlfriend who was not home at the time.  Palmer was heard outside the residence threatening to shoot his ex-girlfriend’s dog and assault her father who was inside the residence.

Palmer proceeded to fire three rounds into the residence, striking his ex-girlfriend’s 42-year-old father who was in his bedroom.  The victim sustained two non-life threatening gunshot wounds to his upper extremities and was transported to a local area hospital for treatment.

A computer inquiry revealed that Palmer has a no contact order with this ex-girlfriend.  Troopers have been unable to locate Palmer who currently has an active warrant out of Troop 4 for the following:

  • Assault First Degree Conduct Created Risk of Death Caused Serious Injury (Felony)
  • Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of a Felony
  • Criminal Mischief
  • Breach of Release

Troopers Investigating Shots Fired Incident- Dover

Dover- The Delaware State Police are investigating a shots fired incident that occurred last evening.

The incident occurred on June 19, 2020, at approximately 10:52 p.m., when Troopers were dispatched to 5485 South Dupont Hwy, Dover (Uncle Willies Woodside), in reference to a shots fired complaint.  Upon arrival it was learned that five individuals had engaged in a verbal confrontation with subjects in a dark colored vehicle in the parking lot of the business.  A male subject exited the vehicle and fired several shots from a handgun at the group of individuals and then fled the area.  There were no reports of injury as a result of this incident.

A total of (9) .40 caliber shell casing were recovered at the scene. It was determined that three of the rounds struck the Uncle Willies building.  The shooter was described as a black male and was in the company of a female.

Troopers Investigating Robbery At The Christiana Mall – Newark

Newark- The Delaware State Police are investigating a robbery that occurred inside of the Christiana Mall yesterday evening.

The incident occurred on June 18th, 2020, at approximately 5:51 p.m., in front of the Finish Line store located inside of the Christiana Mall. Upon Troopers arrival, it was learned that a 17 year old male from Woodlyn, PA was surrounded by a large group of individuals who confronted him concerning his clothing. After a brief altercation, two unknown suspects assaulted the victim. The suspects removed the victim’s sweatshirt and took other personal belongings.

The first suspect was described as a light skin black male wearing dark clothing. The second suspect is described as a black male wearing dark clothing and believed to be in possession of a weapon.

The victim refused medical treatment at the scene.

*Update* Names Released in Death Investigation Case- Georgetown

Georgetown- Delaware State Police are releasing the names of the two individuals that were found deceased early Sunday morning.

The investigation began on June 14, 2020 at approximately 12:09 a.m., when Troopers were dispatched to a residence located in the 28000 block of Johnson Road, Georgetown.  Upon arrival two individuals were located deceased inside the residence.

The individuals have been identified as 49-year-old Crystal Choplick and her husband, 52-year-old Donald C. Faulkner Jr., of Georgetown, DE.

The bodies have been turned over to the Division of Forensic Science where an autopsy will be performed to determine the manner and cause of death.

The Delaware State Police Homicide Unit is continuing their investigation into this suspected murder/suicide incident and there is no concerns for public safety at this time.
