Three Individuals Arrested for Robbery After Fleeing Into Pennsylvania- Wilmington

Wilmington- Three individuals are in custody for robbery after their vehicle was disabled following a pursuit as they fled into Pennsylvania.

On August 16, 2020, at approximately 9:41 p.m., a Delaware State Trooper was contacted in the parking lot of Walmart located at 1251 Centerville Road, Wilmington, as another incident was being investigated. The employee advised they had just been robbed at gunpoint and pointed out a fleeing Mercedes SUV that the suspects were using to flee the scene. The Trooper activated the overhead emergency lights and siren in the patrol vehicle and attempted to conduct a traffic stop on the Mercedes. The vehicle failed to stop and traveled north onto DE State Route 41 until their vehicle became disabled on PA State Route 41 at Penn Green Road, New Garden Township. The three subjects inside the Mercedes were taken into custody by Pennsylvania State Police without incident and identified as the driver of the vehicle 40-year-old Rashad L. Jones of Wilmington, 29-year-old Robert H. Blake of New Castle, and 30-year-old Jamal A. Williams of Philadelphia, PA. All individuals are currently in custody in Pennsylvania and waiting extradition back to Delaware.

  • Conspiracy 2nd Degree (felony)

  • Conspiracy 2nd Degree (felony)

Troopers Seek Public’s Assistance In Identifying Retail Theft Suspects-Rehoboth Beach

Rehoboth Beach– The Delaware State Police are seeking the public’s assistance in attempting to identify the pictured suspects who are wanted for organized retail theft.

The incident occurred on August 16, 2020 at approximately 5:45 p.m., at the Victoria’s Secret outlet store located at 35000 Midway Outlet Drive, Rehoboth Beach.  The employees were initially unaware that the shoplifting had occurred.  It was not until the next day, August 17, 2020, when employees were opening the store that they realized numerous merchandise was missing.  Further investigation revealed that approximately 600-700 pieces of undergarments valued at a total of approximately $12,000.00 were stolen.

It appears that there are four suspects involved in this incident and they are also responsible for other theft incidents from numerous Victoria’s Secret Stores in the Tri-State area.

Georgetown– Delaware State Police have identified the name of the of the individual who died in a crash on August 16, 2020, on Sand Hill Road, Georgetown, as 75-year-old Radia Balfour of Felton, DE.

The crash continues to remain under investigation by the Delaware State Police Collision Reconstruction Unit.

Troopers Investigating Single Vehicle Fatal Crash- Georgetown

Georgetown–Delaware State Police are investigating a fatal motor vehicle crash that occurred at approximately 9:58 a.m., Sunday, August 16, 2020, on Sand Hill Road south of Neptune Road.

The initial investigation has determined a 2009 Toyota Camry, driven by a 42-year-old Felton woman, was traveling southbound on Sand Hill Road. As the operator was negotiating a left curve, the operator lost control of the vehicle, and it began to rotate counterclockwise as it exited the east edge of the road. The Toyota then slid in the grass before the passenger side struck a tree and began rotating clockwise before coming to rest just east of the tree facing southwest.

The driver of the Toyota was transported to Beebe Hospital by ambulance and admitted with non-life-threatening injuries. The driver was properly restrained.

The right front seat passenger of the Toyota, a 75-year-old female from Felton, DE, who was wearing a seatbelt, sustained life-threatening injuries and was transported to Beebe Hospital by ambulance. The passenger was pronounced deceased shortly after arriving at Beebe. Identification is pending notification of next to kin.

Impairment is not a contributing factor in the crash.

Sand Hill Road was closed for approximately 2.5 hours while the scene was investigated and cleared.

Traffic Stop Leads to Drug Charges- Millsboro

Millsboro- The Delaware State Police arrested 33-year-old Eric D. Sellers of Millsboro, DE after a traffic stop led to the discovery of drugs.

The incident occurred on August 14, 2020, at approximately 5:31 p.m., when a Trooper observed a black Buick passenger car traveling northbound on Indian Mission Road following a vehicle too closely. The operator, later identified as Sellers, was wearing headphones and failing to maintain his lane.  A traffic stop was initiated and contact was made with Sellers.

A subsequent search of Sellers vehicle, led to the discovery of methadone (approximately 470.77 grams), drug paraphernalia, a needle with heroin, and marijuana (civil violation).  Sellers was taken into custody without incident and transported to Troop 7 where he was charged with the following crimes:

  • Possession With Intent To Deliver a Controlled Substance (Felony)
  • Possession of a Controlled Substance
  • Possession of Drug Paraphernalia (2 Counts)
  • Possession of Marijuana (Civil Violation)
  • Following a Motor Vehicle Too Closely
  • Failure to have Insurance Identification in Possession
  • Inattentive Driving

Sellers was arraigned before the Justice of the Peace Court #2 and released on $7,200.00 unsecure bond.

Troopers Attempt to Identify Felony Theft Suspect- Sussex County

Sussex County– The Delaware State Police are seeking the public’s assistance in attempting to identify the pictured suspect who is wanted in connection with felony theft and additional charges.

The suspect is wanted in connection to four incidents that occurred during the evening hours of August 13, 2020, at produce stands located in the Millsboro and Laurel area.  The suspect after locating a produce stand, would enter the property and attempt to locate or locate a cash box within. If a cashbox was locked, the lock was cut and any money located inside was removed.

The suspect is a white male, approximately 20-30 years old, between 160-180 lbs., with brown hair and beard.

Wilmington- The Delaware State Police are currently on scene of multiple vehicle crashes on I495.

As a result both north and southbound lanes of I495 on top of the Christina River Bridge are closed at this time.

State Police Investigating Shooting Incident-Magnolia

Magnolia- The Delaware State Police are investigating a shooting incident that occurred August 11, 2020.

The incident occurred at approximately 12:51 p.m., when Troopers were dispatched to the unit block of Cherry Drive West, Paris Villa, Magnolia in reference to a shooting. Upon arrival, it was discovered that the residence had been struck several times with projectiles.  Further investigation revealed that a 17-year-old male resident was on the front porch when he was approached by an unknown subject with a handgun.  The suspect proceeded to fire several shots in the direction of the victim.  The victim was able to retreat back inside the residence unharmed.  There were no reports of any injuries as a result of this incident.

The suspect was described as black male wearing all dark clothing.
