Troopers Arrest Lewes Man for Drug Charges following Traffic Stop- Millsboro

Millsboro-Delaware State Police have arrested 43-year-old William Holloman of Lewes for drug charges following a traffic stop for a check on the welfare.

On August 26, 2020, at approximately 8:30 p.m. Troopers conducting patrol in the area of Long Neck Road, Millsboro, observed a black Chevrolet Pickup truck stopped in the travel lane impeding the flow of traffic in the Sea Esta motel parking lot located at 100 Rudder Road, Millsboro, DE. Troopers contacted the operator of the vehicle who was later identified as Holloman to check on his welfare. A strong odor of burnt marijuana was coming from the vehicle’s interior and located in plain view was a partially burnt marijuana blunt. An investigation ensued and led to the discovery of the following:

  • Digital scale
  • Approximately 159.82 grams of Marijuana
  • Approximately $500 in suspected drug proceed

Holloman was taken into custody without incident and transported to Troop 7 where he was charged with the following crimes:

  • Possession with Intent to Deliver Controlled Substance
  • Possession of Drug Paraphernalia

Holloman was arraigned in Justice of the Peace Court #2 and released on $3,500.00 unsecured bond.

Ellendale– Delaware State Police are currently conducting a criminal investigation in the area of the 12000 block of North Old State Road, Ellendale.  As a result, North Old State Road is closed between Milton-Ellendale Highway and Fleatown Road.  Motorists are asked to seek alternative routes.

The investigation is in the early stages and further updates will be released at a later time.

Troopers Arrest Greenwood Man for 5th Offense DUI and Criminal Charges- Lincoln

Lincoln – The Delaware State Police have arrested 60-year-old Ralph J. Cahall of Greenwood for felony  DUI and criminal charges after troopers responded to a check on the welfare complaint.

The incident occurred at approximately 4:02 p.m., August 25, 2020, in the 10000 block of Webb Farm Road, Lincoln.  The initial report troopers received was a subject lying in the grass area on the side of Webb Farm Road near a lawnmower.  An additional report prior to troopers arriving on the scene was the subject was driving the lawnmower south on Webb Farm Road and was traveling through yards and acting disorderly. Upon arrival, troopers located the subject who was later identified as Cahall leaning against his lawnmower. Contact was made with Cahall and detected a strong odor of alcohol. Through investigative measures, troopers determined he was driving his lawnmower under the influence of alcohol. When troopers attempted to take Cahall into custody, he was not compliant and resisted arrest. A computer inquiry revealed Cahall had four previous DUI convictions.

Cahall was taken into custody without incident and transported to Troop 5 where he was charged with the following crimes:

  • 5th Offense DUI-alcohol (felony)
  • Resisting Arrest
  • Disorderly Conduct
  • Criminal Trespass 3rd Degree

Cahall was arraigned in Justice of the Peace Court #2 and committed to Sussex Correctional Institution in lieu of $7,101.00 secured bail.

*Update- Additional Photograph Released* Troopers Attempt to Identify Felony Theft Suspect- Sussex County

Sussex County– The Delaware State Police are releasing an additional photograph in attempting to identify the pictured suspect who is wanted in connection with felony theft incidents.

The suspect is wanted in connection to multiple incidents that occurred during the month of August, at produce stands located in the Millsboro and Laurel area.  The suspect after locating a produce stand, would enter the property and attempt to locate or locate a cash box within. If a cashbox was locked, the lock was cut and any money located inside was removed.

The suspect is a white male, approximately 20-30 years old, between 160-180 lbs., with brown hair and beard.

Bridgeville- The Delaware State Police have identified the name of the of the driver who died in a crash on August 24, 2020, on Chaplains Chapel Road, as 40-year-old Kimberly Linnae Billie Brown of Bridgeville, DE.

The crash continues to remain under investigation by the Delaware State Police Collision Reconstruction Unit.

Troopers Attempting to Locate Felton Man Wanted for Burglary-Frederica

Frederica- The Delaware State Police are seeking the public’s assistance in attempting to located 22-year-old JARED LAWSON who is wanted for burglary and related charges.

The incident occurred on August 25, 2020 at approximately 4:00 a.m., when Troopers were dispatched to a residence in the 100 block of Maple Drive, Frederica, in reference to a burglary.  Upon arrival, Troopers learned that Lawson had entered the residence and engaged in a physical altercation with his 19-year-old ex-girlfriend and her 26-year-old boyfriend.  Lawson was in possession of a hammer and swung it at the boyfriend while threatening to kill him.  Prior to fleeing the residence Lawson took two cellphones and a pair of airpod headphones.  There were no reports of injuries as a result of this incident.

Troopers have been unable to locate Lawson who may be operating a 2001 red Ford Focus and is known to frequent Maple Drive, Frederica area.  Lawson currently has an active warrant out of Troop 3 for the following:

  • Possession of a Deadly Weapon During the Commission of a Felony
  •  Burglary First Degree (Felony)
  • Aggravated Menacing (Felony)
  • Terroristic Threatening
  • Theft Under $1500 (3 counts)

State Police Investigating Serious Industrial Accident- Lewes

Lewes- The Delaware State Police are investigating a serious industrial accident that occurred yesterday.

The incident occurred on August 24, 2020, at approximately 4:03 p.m., when Troopers were dispatched to the 31000 block of Temple Road, The Governors, Lewes, in reference to an industrial accident.  Prior to police arrival, the 22-year-old male victim had been airlifted to the Christiana Hospital  by the Delaware State Police Aviation Unit.

Further investigation revealed that the victim was a contractor working on a residence under construction.  The victim was on the second story of the residence standing on a 2×4 while installing floor joists in place.  The victim lost his footing and fell approximately 14 feet onto a concrete slab below.

The 22-year-old victim from Philadelphia, PA was admitted to the hospital in critical condition.  His name is being withheld at this time.

The case continues to remain under investigation by the Delaware State Police Major Crimes Unit.

State Police Investigating Fatal Industrial Accident- Harrington

Harrington- The Delaware State Police are investigating a fatal industrial accident that occurred yesterday.

The incident occurred on August 24, 2020, at approximately 10:22 a.m., when Troopers were dispatched to the 12000 block of  Pin Oak Lane, Harrington, in reference to an industrial accident. Upon arrival, paramedics were attending to a 59-year-old male.  Further investigation revealed that the victim was cutting down a tree branch when the branch snapped and struck the boom lift in which the victim was standing in.  The victim fell out of the bucket and approximately 40 feet to the ground.

The victim was transported to the Sussex Bayhealth Hospital where he was pronounced deceased.  The victim was turned over to the Delaware Division of Forensic Science where an autopsy will be performed to determine the cause and manner of death.  His name is being withheld at this time.

The case continues to remain under investigation by the Delaware State Police Criminal Investigations Unit.
