Wilmington– Delaware State Police have identified the name of the of the individual who died in a crash on September 09, 2020, on Grubb Road east of Foulk Road, Wilmington, as 17 year-old Nairee English of Wilmington, DE.

The crash continues to remain under investigation by the Delaware State Police Collision Reconstruction Unit.

Delaware State Police Seeking Public’s Assistance with Identifying Theft Suspect-Smyrna

Smyrna – Delaware State Police are seeking the public’s assistance with identifying the individual seen in the surveillance footage, who is a person of interest in connection with multiple vehicle break-ins in the Smyrna area.

During the overnight hours on Saturday, August 29,2020, the preliminary investigation has determined several vehicles parked in the Northridge and Hickory Ridge Developments were broken into. All of the vehicles entered were not locked, and personal property was stolen.

The suspect in the surveillance video is described as a white male, wearing a dark-colored hooded jacket, dark-colored pants, and brown colored shoes.

This investigation is ongoing, and anyone with information is asked to contact Detective J. Delaware State Police Arrest Seaford Man on Multiple Drug and Weapon Charges- Seaford

 

Seaford – Delaware State Police concluded a 6 month long investigation on September 8, 2020, that resulted in the arrest of 37-year-old Adan Montalvo-Cruz of Seaford on multiple drug and weapon charges.

Through investigative measures, it was discovered Montalvo-Cruz was utilizing the mail to have cocaine shipped from Puerto Rico to the Delaware area. At the conclusion of the investigation, Montalvo-Cruz had a package delivery scheduled to arrive at his residence. Surveillance was established on the residence prior to the package being delivered and Montalvo-Cruz was observed standing in the front door of the residence. Shortly after the package was delivered, Montalvo-Cruz exited the front door and carried the package into the residence. A search warrant was executed on the residence and Montalvo-Cruz was taken into custody without incident. Also in the residence at the time was an adult female and young child.

During a search of the residence, the following items were located and seized:

  • Approximately 1122.11 grams of cocaine
  • Approximately 1.59 grams of marijuana
  • $5,309.00 in suspected drug proceeds
  • 1-9mm Glock with extended magazines
  • 1-Keltech 12 gauge shotgun
  • 163 rounds of assorted ammunition (9mm, .45 cal, and 12 gauge)
  • Assorted drug paraphernalia

Montalvo-Cruz was transported to Troop 4 where he was charged with the following crimes:

  • Possession with Intent to Deliver Cocaine (Tier 3- felony)
  • Possession of Firearm by Person Prohibited (felony)
  • Possession of Deadly Weapon During the Commission of a Felony (2 counts- felony)
  • Possession of Drug Paraphernalia (2 counts)
  • Endangering the Welfare of a Child
  • Possession of Marijuana

Montalvo-Cruz was arraigned in Justice of the Peace Court#2 and committed to Sussex Correctional Institution on $78,502.00 secure bond.

Laurel– Delaware State Police have identified the name of the of the pedestrian who died in a crash on September 4, 2020, northbound on Sussex Highway north of County Seat Highway, Laurel, as 63-year-old Audrey J. Pitter of Cliffside Park, NJ.  Pitter was pronounced deceased at the scene.

The crash continues to remain under investigation by the Delaware State Police Collision Reconstruction Unit.

Delaware State Police Investigating Fatal Crash- Wilmington

Wilmington– Delaware State Police are investigating a fatal motor vehicle crash that occurred at approximately 11:21 p.m., Wednesday, September 09, 2020, on Grubb Road east of Foulk Road.

The initial investigation has determined a 2009 Nissan Altima, driven by a 17-year-old male from Wilmington, was traveling westbound Grubb Road at a high rate of speed. The operator failed to maintain control of the vehicle and left the roadway. The vehicle spun out of control until it struck a tree where it came to a final rest.

The driver of the Altima who was not wearing a seatbelt was pronounced deceased at the scene. His name is being withheld at this time pending the notification of next of kin.

Grubb Road was closed for approximately 4 hours while the investigation was completed and the roadway was cleared.

The investigation is ongoing, and anyone with information regarding the crash should contact Det. Breen of the Troop 2 Collision Reconstruction Unit by calling 302-365-8486.

Detectives Conducting Homicide Investigation – Wilmington

Wilmington– The Delaware State Police are conducting an investigation into a homicide that occurred early this morning.

On September 09, 2020 at approximately 4:12 a.m. the New Castle County Police Department foot patrol units were conducting a patrol of Edgemoore Gardens in the area of E. Salisbury Drive. Officers observed a male lying face down in a grassy area. The victim was found to be deceased from an apparent gunshot wound to the back. A canvas of the area showed the scene of the shooting was on the 4800 block of Governor Printz Boulevard, Wilmington.

There is no suspect information at this time.  This incident continues to remain under investigation by the Delaware State Police Homicide Unit and further information will be released as it becomes available.

Bridgeville Man Arrested on Assault and Criminal Charges- Bridgeville

Bridgeville- Delaware State Police arrested 40-year-old Howard Page of Bridgeville on assault and criminal charges following an altercation.

On September 8, 2020, at approximately 7:20 p.m., Delaware State Police responded to the 18000 block of Wesley Church Road, Bridgeville, for a report of an assault. The investigation revealed Page and the 63-year-old male victim had a verbal argument. Page left the area after the argument and returned with an aluminum pipe, which caused the victim to fear his safety. Page then approached the victim and hit him with a closed fist causing visible swelling. After the incident, Page left the location and was taken into custody at his residence in Bridgeville.

He was transported to Troop 5 where he was charged with the following crimes:

  • Possession of a Deadly Weapon during the Commission of a Felony (felony)
  • Aggravated Menacing (felony)
  • Assault 3rd Degree

Page was arraigned in Justice of the Peace Court #3 and released on $27,000 unsecured bond.

Troopers Conducting Criminal Investigation Governor Printz Boulevard- Wilmington

Wilmington– Delaware State Police are currently conducting a criminal investigation in the area of the 4800 block of Governor Printz Blvd., Wilmington.  As a result, there will be a heavy police presence in the area.  There are no road closures at this time.
