*Traffic Advisory* Road Closure Route 13 For Overturned Tractor Trailer – New Castle

New Castle – The Delaware State Police are currently on the scene of a crash involving a tractor trailer that has overturned at the exit ramp from Route 13 southbound to Route 141 northbound.  As a result of the crash, the exit ramp is closed.

Motorists will experience heavy delays in the area and are advised to seek alternate routes of travel.

*UPDATE #2- Suspect Vehicle* Delaware State Police Investigating Fatal Hit and Run Crash Involving a Pedestrian- Georgetown

Georgetown- Delaware State Police Collision Reconstruction Unit is continuing to investigate a fatal hit and run crash involving a pedestrian in which the striking vehicle fled the scene and are seeking the public’s assistance.

The incident occurred on November 5, 2020, at approximately 6:34 a.m., when a vehicle traveling eastbound on County Seat Highway, just west of Old Furnace Road, was approaching a slight curve. The pedestrian, a 49-year-old Jamal L. Woodlin of Lincoln, was walking eastbound on the shoulder of the roadway. The vehicle failed to negotiate the curve in the road and drove onto the shoulder, striking Woodlin with the right front. He was projected down an embankment, landing in a shallow ditch. The vehicle did not stop for the collision.

Through the investigation, a possible vehicle involved in the collision is a white Ford E-Series van with right front damage. The picture shown is similar to the suspect vehicle.

Delaware State Police Investigating Fatal Accident- Milton

Milton- Delaware State Police are investigating a fatal crash that claimed the life of a Lewes man.

On Wednesday, November 11, 2o2o, at approximately 2:47 p.m., a 2018 Nissan Sentra was traveling northbound on Cedar Creek Road north of Reynolds Pond Road. A 2017 Ford Escape was traveling southbound on Cedar Creek Road north of Reynolds Pond Road. The Nissan failed to negotiate the curve in the roadway and began to rotate counter clockwise before crossing over the double yellow centerline and into the southbound travel lane. The center portion of the Ford struck the right, center portion of the Nissan. After impact, the Nissan was forced off the west edge of the roadway and struck a tree before rebounding off the tree where it came to rest just west of the roadway. The Ford came to an uncontrolled stop in the southbound travel lane.

The operator of the Nissan was a 76-year-old male of Lewes was pronounced deceased at the scene. Identification is pending notification to next of kin.

The occupants of the Ford were the operator, a 54-year-old female of Lewes and a male passenger of Lewes. They were transported to an area hospital by ambulance with non-life threatening injuries.

The roadway was closed for approximately 2.5 hours while the investigation was completed and the roadway was cleared.

*Traffic Advisory* Road Closure Philadelphia Pike-Wilmington

Wilmington- Delaware State Police are issuing a traffic advisory for Philadelphia Pike between Edgemoor Road and Lea Boulevard.  The road will be closed until further notice due to flooding and the collapse of the bridge at Shell Pot Creek.

It is unknown the length of time the roadway will be closed. Travelers are urged to seek alternate routes of travel.

Delaware State Police Investigating Fatal Motor Vehicle Crash- Millsboro

Millsboro- Delaware State Police are investigating a single vehicle crash that claimed the life of a 58-year-old Millsboro woman.

On Tuesday, November 10, 2020, at approximately 8:46p.m., a 2010 Kia Sportage was traveling eastbound on Laurel Road approaching a moderate left curve in the area of the intersection of Lowes Crossing Road. For unknown reasons, the operator failed to negotiate the curve and exited the south edge of roadway into a shallow ditch. The Kia continued traveling before it struck a Delaware Electric Utility Pole and entered Lowes Crossing Road where it started rotating in counter clockwise direction as it rolled over multiple times before coming to rest.

The 58-year-old operator was the only passenger in the vehicle and was pronounced deceased at the scene.  Identification is pending notification to next of kin.

Laurel Road was closed for approximately 3 hours.

This crash remains under investigation by the Delaware State Police Troop 7 Collision Reconstruction Unit. Anyone with information regarding the collision is asked to contact Detective R. Millsboro Woman Arrested by Troopers Following Physical Altercation- Millsboro

Millsboro- Delaware State Police arrested 32-year-old Krista M. Gdowik of Millsboro on felony charges, and a 34-year-old male is wanted on misdemeanor charges following a physical altercation Saturday morning.

On November 7, 2020, at approximately 8:58 a.m., Delaware State Police responded to Sea Esta II Motel located at 100 Rudder Lane for a reported assault in progress. The investigation determined the 34-year-old male suspect of Millsboro was standing outside speaking to the 25-year-old female victim. As the two were talking, Gdowik approached the victim with a black box cutter in her hand and dropped it before striking her. She fled the scene after the incident occurred, and the victim called 911 to report the incident. When the male suspect learned the female victim called the police, he became upset, approached the female victim’s 25-year-old boyfriend, who was standing outside, waiting for troopers to arrive, and punched him with a closed fist. Neither victim required medical treatment.

Gdowik was located at the Boys & Girls Club located in Oak Orchard and transported to Troop 7, where she was charged with the following crimes:

  • Possession of a Deadly Weapon During the Commission of a Felony (Felony)
  • Aggravated Menacing (Felony)
  • Offensive Touching
  • Disorderly Conduct

Gdowik was arraigned in the Justice of the Peace Court #3 and released after posting bail on a $22,200 secured bond.

The 34-year-old male suspect was not able to be located by troopers and is currently wanted on the following charges:

  • Assault 3rd Degree
  • Disorderly Conduct

Long Neck Woman Arrested on Criminal Charges Following Physical Altercation- Long Neck

Long Neck- Delaware State Police arrested 55-year-old Regina Love of Long Neck on criminal charges following a physical altercation on Saturday evening.

On November 7, 2020, at approximately 5:29 p.m., troopers responded to Court Drive for a physical altercation. The investigation determined Regina Love was at the residence with a 74-year-old female acquaintance and 72-year-old female acquaintance when a verbal argument ensued. The argument escalated, and Love took a full egg salad sandwich and shoved it into the 74-year-old female’s face, then grabbed her and threatened to cause physical harm to her. During the incident, Love also grabbed a hammer and went after the 74-year-old victim, causing her to fear her safety. Love was taken into custody at the residence without incident and transported to Troop 7, where she was charged with the following crimes:

  • Aggravated Menacing (Felony)
  • Terroristic Threatening
  • Offensive Touching

Love was arraigned in the Justice of the Peace Court #3 and released on her Own Recognizance.

Delaware State Police Investigate Serious Pedestrian Hit and Run Collision- Georgetown

Georgetown- Delaware State Police are investigating a hit and run collision that seriously injured a pedestrian.

On November 7, 2020, at approximately 6:18 p.m., a vehicle was traveling eastbound on East Trap Pond Road, just west of Parker Road. The 41-year-old male victim of Columbia, PA, was walking eastbound in the westbound lane near the white fog line just east of the vehicle. As the vehicle approached the pedestrian, the vehicle entered into the westbound travel lane while attempting to pass another vehicle.  While passing the other vehicle, the left front of the vehicle struck the pedestrian. The victim was airlifted to an area hospital in critical condition. The identity of the victim is pending notification to next of kin.

After the collision, the vehicle fled the scene.  A possible vehicle description is a white 4-door Nissan Altima or similar model with Delaware Registration. The vehicle has left front damage and missing left side mirror.

The roadway was closed for approximately 4 hours.
