Milton- Delaware State Police are investigating a serious crash that occurred early this morning.

On December 22, 2020, at approximately 7:20 a.m., a white 2006 Ford F250, being operated by a 22-year-old male of Bethany Beach, was traveling northbound on Coastal Highway approaching the Broadkill River Bridge. The vehicle traveled off the roadway into the median and struck the guardrail on the highway’s southbound side. After colliding with the guardrail, the F250 flipped multiple times, entered into the southbound lane of travel, and collided with an orange 1994 Ford Mustang being operated by a 56-year-old male of Milford, DE. A white 2006 Chevrolet Impala being operated by a 17-year-old male of Lincoln was traveling behind the Mustang and struck the guardrail in the southbound lanes of travel due to the F250 colliding with it.

The operator of the Ford F250 was flown from the scene to an area hospital with serious injuries.

The operator of the Ford Mustang was transported by ambulance to an area hospital with serious injuries.

Northbound Coastal Highway was closed for approximately 1.5 hours, and southbound Coastal Highway was closed for approximately 3.5 hours while the crash was investigated, and the roadway cleared.

Camden- Delaware State Police are investigating a shots fired incident which took place Monday morning.

On December 21, 2020, at approximately 11:56 a.m., troopers responded to the 500 block of Cow Marsh Creek Road for a report of shots fired. The investigation determined an unknown suspect fired shots at the residence while multiple people were inside. One round struck a 2000 Ford F150 pickup parked in the driveway and two rounds struck the front of the residence. Inside the home during the incident was two 31-year-old males, a 23-year-old female, a 22-year-old female, a 59-year-old female, and a 39-year-old male. No one was injured during the incident.

At this time there are no suspects.

New Castle- Delaware State Police are investigating a shooting incident that occurred Monday afternoon that left two men wounded.

The incident occurred on December 21, 2020, at approximately 1:16 p.m., when Troopers were dispatched to the 3000 block of New Castle Ave (Route 9), New Castle, in reference to a shooting. Investigation has determined a 30-year-old male and a 58-year-old male were sitting inside of their vehicle in the parking lot of the New Castle Market. At this time a vehicle traveling northbound New Castle Ave stopped on the shoulder of the roadway in front of the parking lot, and unknown suspects began firing gunshots at the victims. The two male victims were each shot once in their lower extremities. The victims were transported to an area hospital and treated for non-life-threatening injuries.

There is no suspect information at this time and no other reported injuries.

The suspect vehicle is described as a light-colored sedan.

Greenwood- Delaware State Police arrested 39-year-old Antonio E. White of Bridgeville on felony criminal charges following an incident Monday night.

On December 21, 2020, at approximately 9:19 p.m., troopers responded to the 15000 block of Blanchard Road for an altercation. The investigation determined that Antonio White and a 24-year-old male acquaintance engaged in a verbal argument. The argument escalated, and White retrieved a handgun inside the residence and pointed it at the male, and threatened to harm him with it. A physical altercation ensued, and the weapon was able to be removed from White’s possession. The victim left the residence unharmed. When troopers contacted White, he requested medical attention and was transported to an area hospital. Once cleared from the hospital for any injury, White was then transported to Troop 5, where he was charged with the following charges:

• Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of a Felony (Felony)
• Possession of a Firearm by a Person Prohibited (Felony)
• Aggravated Menacing (Felony)

White was arraigned in the Justice of the Peace Court #7 and committed to Sussex Correctional Institution on a $27,000.00 secured bond.

Camden- Delaware State Police are investigating a fatal motor vehicle crash that occurred early Sunday morning.

On December 20, 2020, at approximately 12:17 a.m., a 1998 black Honda Accord passenger car was traveling eastbound on Willow Grove Road west of Steeles Ridge Road, approaching a moderate left curve. The Accord failed to negotiate the curve, traveled off the south edge of the roadway, and struck a tree with its left front fender and wheel. After impact, the vehicle rotates clockwise and continues eastbound, striking a second tree with its right rear fender and wheel. The Accord then continues eastbound, rolling over several times, ejecting the operator. The vehicle comes to rest right side up in a private driveway south of the roadway’s south edge.

The 23-year-old male operator of Clayton was transported to an area hospital with life-threatening injuries and admitted in critical condition. Sunday evening, he died from the injuries he sustained in the collision.  Identification of the victim is pending notification to next of kin.

The roadway was closed for approximately 3.5 hours while the investigation was completed, and the roadway was cleared.

As a result, there will be a heavy police presence in the area. There is a road closure on Route 9, starting at West Avenue and ending at Lambson Lane.

Millsboro- Delaware State Police arrested 42-year-old Shonta D. Blake of Selbyville on criminal and traffic charges following a pursuit Thursday.

On December 18, 2020, at approximately 12:24 a.m., a trooper patrolling northbound on DuPont Hwy. in a fully marked patrol vehicle observed a gray Toyota Corolla traveling northbound directly in the same area. A computer search completed by the trooper determined the driver, later identified as Shonta Blake, had a revoked driver’s license and an active capias out of Sussex County Family Court. The trooper initiated a car stop, but the vehicle failed to stop and continued traveling on DuPont Boulevard before turning left onto Houston Avenue and then back onto DuPont Boulevard southbound. Once turning onto Laurel Road, the Corolla committed several traffic violations before turning left into the Wawa parking lot in Millsboro and stopping abruptly. A female front seat passenger exited the vehicle before the vehicle recklessly left the parking lot. The vehicle continued traveling on multiple back roads in the surrounding area at a high rate of speed while committing numerous traffic violations. As Blake turned from Frankford Avenue onto Mill Street, he jumped from the moving vehicle and fled on foot. The Corolla continued traveling until it collided with a parked car and fence. After a brief foot pursuit, Blake was apprehended, and a strong odor of marijuana was detected emitting from Blake’s clothing. A criminal investigation ensued, and drug paraphernalia was located in Blake’s vehicle. Approximately 14.21 grams of marijuana was also determined to be in his possession. 

Blake was taken into custody and transported to Troop 4 where he was charged with the following crimes:

• Disregarding a Police Officer Signal (Felony)
• Resisting Arrest
• Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
• Leaving the Scene of a Property Damage Collision
• Driving While Suspended
• Driving Under the Influence of Drugs
• Failure to Have Insurance Identification
• Failure to Have Registration Card in Possession
• Possession of Marijuana (Civil Violation)
• Driving at Unreasonable Speed (5 violations)
• Failed to Remain in Single Lane (5 violations)
• Failure to Signal
• Failure to Stop at Stop Sign (9 violations)

Blake was arraigned in the Justice of the Peace Court #11 and issued a $4,530.00 unsecured bond. He was committed to Sussex Correctional Institution on his active capiases.

Townsend- Delaware State Police is requesting the public’s assistance with locating 29-year-old Andrew Parsons of Dover, who is wanted on weapon and related charges.

On December 18, 2020, at approximately 1723 hours, Delaware State Police responded to Union Church Road for an incident involving a gun. The investigation determined Parsons engaged in a verbal argument with a 46-year-old male at the residence. As the male began walking away from the argument, Parsons fired a single round into the ground several feet from the subject. Parsons then fled the scene.

As a result of this incident, Parsons is wanted for the following charges:

• Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of a Felony (Felony)
• Possession of a Firearm Within ten years of Prior Conviction (Felony)
• Reckless Endangering 1st Degree (Felony)

Attempts to locate Parsons have resulted in negative results. He is believed to be staying at the residents of acquaintances or sleeping in his blue Chevrolet pickup truck (picture included) with Delaware registration. Anyone who comes in contact with Parsons should use extreme caution because he is believed to be armed and dangerous.

Millsboro- Delaware State Police arrested 32-year-old Sean R. Caldwell of Rehoboth Beach on criminal charges after attempting to steal a vehicle Thursday.

On December 17, 2020, at approximately 5:00 p.m., Delaware State Police responded to the 25000 block of Banks Road for a report of an individual attempting to gain entry into a vehicle in a private driveway. Upon arrival, troopers discovered Caldwell entered the private property on Banks Road and attempted to enter a running vehicle, and preparing to depart the residence. Sitting inside the vehicle during the incident was the homeowners’ son. The son called a family member inside the home as Caldwell attempted to enter the locked vehicle. The family member exited the residence, confronted Caldwell, and detained him until troopers arrived on the scene. Caldwell was taken into custody without incident and transported to Troop 7, where he was charged with the following crimes:

• Attempt to Commit Theft of a Motor Vehicle (Felony)
• Criminal Trespass 3rd Degree

Caldwell was arraigned in the Justice of the Peace Court #2 and committed to Sussex Correctional Institution on a $2,001 secured bond.
