*UPDATE #3* Delaware State Police Seeking Public’s Assistance with Identifying Suspect Vehicle in Fatal Hit and Run Crash- Georgetown

Georgetown- Delaware State Police are seeking the public’s assistance in attempting to identify the pictured vehicle that was involved in a fatal pedestrian hit and run crash.

The crash occurred on Thursday, November 5, 2020 at approximately 5:30 a.m. when a pedestrian was struck on a curve on County Seat Highway just east of Sussex Tech High School. After the collision, the vehicle did not stop and fled the scene.

Pictures from business surveillance videos were obtained.  The suspect’s vehicle is believed to be a white Ford E-Series van with an extended body without ladder racks. The vehicle has no windows on the side but two windows on the back doors. The right passenger front headlight was completely broken and detached as a result of the collision. There is also possible damage to the bumper, hood, and right front fender. Also included is a stock photograph of the exact same model van and headlight assembly.

Millsboro Man Arrested on Criminal and Traffic Charges After Attempting to Flee from Troopers and Crashing Into Police Car- Millsboro

Millsboro- Delaware State Police arrested 25-year-old Rahman K. Miller of Millsboro on criminal and traffic charges after attempting to flee from troopers and crashing into a police car.

On December 2, 2020, at approximately 12:29 p.m., Delaware State Police attempted to make contact and arrest Rahman Miller at the BP Station located at 32369 Long Neck Road, Millsboro, for an active warrant out of Sussex County Superior Court. As troopers observed Miller exit the store and return to his vehicle at the gas pumps, a Delaware State Police divisional vehicle activated its emergency lights and pulled in front of Miller’s car. As the trooper identified himself to Miller, he was given verbal commands not to move or return to his vehicle. He failed to comply and entered his car. At the same time, another Delaware State Police divisional police car pulled behind Miller’s vehicle. At that time, Miller put his vehicle in reverse, accelerated, and struck the police car causing extensive damage. Miller continued to attempt to flee in his vehicle as other troopers arrived on the scene. As troopers attempted to make contact with Miller, he continued to ignore commands to exit his vehicle. Troopers were eventually able to open Miller’s door, and after a struggle, they were able to remove him from the driver seat. Miller continued to struggle and not comply with commands to place his hands behind his back but was eventually taken into custody. Miller did not appear to have any visible injuries and refused medical attention. The troopers injured during the crash were transported to a nearby hospital and treated for minor injuries, and released.

During a search incident to arrest, the following items were located on Miller’s person:

  • Approximately 13.02 grams of Powder Cocaine
  • Approximately 0.049 grams of Heroin
  • 3 Buprenorphine Sublingual Strips
  • Approximately $307 in suspected drug proceeds

A search of the vehicle resulted in the following items being located:

  • Drug Paraphernalia
  • Approximately 10.11 grams of Marijuana
  • 1- 2mg Buprenorphine tablet

Miller was transported to Troop 7, where he was charged with the following crimes:

  • Possession of a Deadly Weapon During the Commission of a Felony (Felony)
  • Possession with Intent to Deliver a Controlled Substance (Felony)
  • Reckless Endangering 1st Degree (2 counts- Felony)
  • Resisting Arrest (Felony)
  • Disregarding a Police Officers Signal (Felony)
  • Criminal Mischief
  • Possession of a Controlled Substance (3 counts)
  • Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
  • Reckless Driving
  • Failure to Have Insurance Identification
  • Driving Without a Valid License
  • Failure to Have Registration in Possession
  • Possession of Marijuana (Civil Violation)

Miller was arraigned in the Justice of the Peace Court #2 and committed to Sussex Correctional Institution on a $10,200.00 secured bond.

Dover Man Arrested on Weapon and Related Charges- Milford

Milford- Delaware State Police arrested 39-year-old Raymond T. Lebeau Jr. of Dover on felony criminal charges following an incident Wednesday evening.

On December 2, 2020, at approximately 5:26 p.m., troopers responded to Shawnee Country Store located at 6994 Shawnee Road, Milford, for a fight in progress. Through the investigation, it was determined Lebeau and a 21-year-old male acquaintance were involved in a verbal argument inside the business.  The argument escalated and Lebeau pulled out a knife he had in his possession and threatened to harm the acquaintance with the knife.  Lebeau was taken into custody without incident and transported to Troop 5 where he was charged with the following crimes:

  • Possession of a Deadly Weapon During the Commission of a Felony (Felony)
  • Aggravated Menacing (Felony)
  • Terroristic Threatening

Lebeau was arraigned in the Justice of the Peace Court #2 and committed to Sussex Correctional Institution on a $5,000.00 secured bond.

Troopers Investigating Robbery of Drug Store – Wilmington

Wilmington- The Delaware State Police are investigating a robbery that occurred at a Walgreens located in Wilmington, DE.

The incident occurred on November 29, 2020 at approximately 8:20 a.m. when Troopers were dispatched to the Walgreens located at 3301 Lancaster Pike, Wilmington for a report of a robbery. Upon arrival, it was learned that two suspects entered the store and confronted employees. The first suspect immediately went to the manager’s office while the second confronted two other employees. The first suspect physically assaulted the 39-year-old manager/victim and demanded cash from the safe. The manager complied and the suspect removed an undisclosed amount of cash. The second suspect grabbed two other employees/victims and physically placed them into the manager’s office. The suspects then fled out of a rear emergency door to the business.

Once the suspects exited the store, they confronted a 27-year-old male of Wilmington, who had just parked his blue Honda Accord and demanded his car keys. The victim refused and one of the suspects began fighting with the victim in attempt to take the keys from him. The suspect was able to overpower the victim, remove the car keys, and both suspects fled the area in the stolen vehicle.

There were no injuries as a result of the incident.

There are currently no photos of the suspects available at this time.

The suspects were described as males who were wearing all dark clothing.

Delaware State Police Conducting Homicide Investigation – Dagsboro

Dagsboro- Delaware State Police are conducting a homicide investigation that occurred early Saturday morning at a business complex in Dagsboro.

Delaware State Police responded to the 31000 block of Country Gardens at approximately 12:34 a.m. on November 28, 2020, for a reported shooting in the parking lot. Upon arrival, troopers were advised a male victim was shot in the upper torso and brought to an area hospital. The 33-year-old male victim from Millsboro, DE, was pronounced deceased at the hospital. Preliminary investigation has determined a building within the business complex hosted a music event with a large number of spectators.

At this time, there is no suspect information available.

*Update* Delaware State Police Conducting Homicide Investigation – Georgetown

Georgetown- Delaware State Police are conducting a homicide investigation that occurred Friday evening on Old Furnace Road in Georgetown.

Delaware State Police responded to the 14000 block of Old Furnace Road at approximately 5:31 p.m. on November 27, 2020, for a reported shooting. Upon arrival, troopers located a 28-year-old male from Salisbury, MD, deceased lying on the ground in front of his vehicle from an apparent gunshot wound. The victim’s vehicle was discovered stationary in the westbound lane of Old Furnace Road facing East. The victim was pronounced deceased at the scene by Emergency Medical Services.

At this time, there is no suspect information available.

Newark– Delaware State Police have identified the names of two individuals who died in a crash on November 25, 2020, on northbound Interstate 95 north of the Churchmans Road overpass, Newark, as 25-year-old Erin Sheets of Delmar, DE, and 29-year-old Lorenzo Deer of North East, MD.

The crash continues to remain under investigation by the Delaware State Police Collision Reconstruction Unit.

Delaware State Police Investigating Robbery Involving Stabbing – Newark

Newark- Delaware State Police are investigating a shoplifting turned robbery that occurred Wednesday evening. 

On November 25, 2020, at approximately 5:23 p.m., troopers responded to Home Depot located at 2000 Peoples Plaza, Newark, for a robbery. The initial investigation revealed the suspect attempted to shoplift two chainsaws and was confronted by employees as he was exiting the business. The suspect who was armed with pepper spray, dropped one of the chainsaws and sprayed three employees in the face. The suspect fled and a fourth employee chased him into the parking lot. The employee was able to remove the second chainsaw from the suspects hands, but during the confrontation the suspect stabbed him in the arm. The 53-year-old victim of North East, MD, was treated at an area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The other three employees/victims were treated by EMS at the scene.

The suspect fled the scene on foot.

The suspect was described as a white male, approximately 5’5″ tall, heavy build with a dark beard. He was wearing all dark colored clothing, a black mask, and gloves.
