Troopers Seeking Public’s Assistance Locating Wanted Greenwood Man- Greenwood

Greenwood, DE- Delaware State Police are seeking the public’s assistance locating a Greenwood man who is wanted on multiple criminal charges.

Aarron T. Jenkins, 26, of Greenwood, is wanted by troopers on criminal charges stemming from incidents in March and May 2021. Attempts to locate Jenkins have been unsuccessful and troopers are seeking the public’s assistance locating him. Jenkins is wanted on the following charges:

  • Terroristic Threatening
  • Assault Third Degree
  • Theft Under $1,500
  • Theft by False Pretense

Delaware State Police Arrest Bear Man For Robbery of Fast-Food Restaurant- Bear

Bear– Delaware State Police have arrested 22-year-old Dequan Woods of Bear, DE, for the robbery of fast-food restaurant.

The incident occurred on June 25, 2021, at approximately 1:25 p.m., when troopers responded to Popeyes, located at 1957 Pulaski Hwy. Bear, DE in reference to a knife point robbery. Upon arrival, it was determined that the suspect who was also a former employee, identified as Dequan Woods, entered the business, and demanded to speak to the manager regarding money Woods believed he was owed. After the manager denied Woods was owed any money. Woods jumped over the front counter and removed money from the cash register. The manager confronted Woods who in turn displayed a large a cutting instrument. Woods then ran to his vehicle in the parking lot with an undisclosed amount of cash and fled the area. The victim was not injured as a result of the incident.

On June 30, 2021, troopers located Woods at his residence and took him into custody without incident. Woods was transported to Troop 2 where he was charged with the following:

  • Robbery 1st Degree (Felony)
  • Possession of a Deadly Weapon During the Commission of a Felony (Felony)
  • Wearing a Disguise During the Commission of a Felony

Woods was arraigned in the Justice of the Peace Court 2 and released on $43,000 unsecured bond.

Public’s Assistance Requested Identifying Burglary Suspects- Seaford

 

Seaford, DE- Delaware State Police are seeking the public’s assistance identifying two suspects wanted in connection to a Seaford convenience store burglary.

On June 28, 2021, at approximately 6:00 a.m., Delaware State Police responded to Tru Blu convenience store located at 1611 Middleford Road, Seaford, for a reported burglary. The investigation determined during the overnight hours, two male suspects forced entry into the business and removed an undisclosed amount of goods.

The first suspect is described as a male with curly hair. He was wearing a hooded sweatshirt with “NAVY” written on the back, gloves, and sweatpants.

The second suspect is described as a male with a goatee and glasses. He was wearing shorts and a Ravens hooded sweatshirt that says, “Win, lose or tie. I’m a Raven’s fan until I die”. He was also carrying a book bag.

Troopers Investigate Single Vehicle Fatal Crash- Hartly

Hartly, DE- Delaware State Police are investigating a fatal single vehicle crash that occurred early Tuesday morning in Hartly.

On June 29, 2021, at approximately 2:40 a.m., a 1997 Honda Accord was traveling southbound on Hartly Road north of Halltown Road, approaching a right curve. As the Honda entered the curve, it crossed over into the northbound lane, traveled off the east edge of the roadway, and struck a curve warning sign with its left front fender as it traveled down a slight grass embankment. The vehicle crossed between a guidewire and utility pole, sideswiping the left side with the guidewire. As it continued traveling southbound, the Accord crossed a private driveway, then struck a large tree with its front bumper. After hitting the tree, the Accord deflected off and came to rest just west of the tree.

The 58-year-old female operator was from Milford, DE. She was pronounced deceased at the scene. Identification is pending notification to next of kin.

The roadway in the area was closed for approximately three hours while the collision was investigated. The crash remains under investigation by the Delaware State Police Troop 3 Collision Reconstruction Unit. State Police Investigating Fatal Collision – Little Heaven

Little Heaven – The Delaware State Police Troop 3 Collision Reconstruction Unit is investigating a fatal crash that occurred yesterday evening.

The incident occurred around 9:11 p.m. Saturday June 26 as a 63-year-old Rock Hall, MD man was operating a 2009 Nissan Altima southbound on Bay Road (SR1) approaching Exit 88 for Magnolia. A 25-year-old Lincoln, DE man was operating a 2012 Ford Flex northbound on SR1 in the left lane just north of Mulberrie Point Road. A 59-year-old Newark, DE man was operating a 2012 Toyota Camry northbound on SR1 slightly behind the Ford Flex, also in the left lane.

For undetermined reasons, the operator of the Nissan Altima failed to maintain its lane of travel and entered into the grassy median in a southeasterly direction. The Altima crossed completely through the center median and struck the left side of the Ford Flex causing the left rear wheel of the Flex to be torn from the vehicle. The driver of the Ford Flex was able to remain in control of the vehicle and come to a controlled stop on the northbound shoulder of SR1.

The Altima continued in a southerly direction striking the Toyota Camry in an off-set head-on collision. Following this second impact, the Altima redirected in an easterly direction while rotating clockwise and came to an uncontrolled stop facing east after lightly striking the guardrail. The Camry redirected into a northwesterly direction while also rotating clockwise came to a stop in the median facing west.

The 63-year-old male was not properly restrained and was transported to Bayhealth Kent General where he was pronounced dead. His name is being withheld pending notification of next of kin.

The 25-year-old male was properly restrained and was not injured in the collision.

The 59-year-old male was properly restrained and was transported to Bayhealth Kent General where he was treated and admitted for non-life-threatening injuries.

State Route 1 northbound traffic was impacted for approximately five hours while the collision was investigated and cleared.

Troopers Investigating Fatal Crash East of Laurel

Laurel – The Delaware State Police Collision Reconstruction Unit is investigating a fatal crash that occurred early yesterday evening just east of Laurel.

The incident occurred around 7:07 p.m. Saturday June 26, 2021 as a 29-year-old man was operating a 2004 Toyota Corolla southbound on Kaye Road approaching the intersection of County Seat Highway (US9) at an apparent high rate of speed. A 27-year-old Laurel man was operating a 2012 Ford F-250 Pickup Truck westbound on US9 approaching the intersection of Kaye Road. Kaye Road at US9 is controlled by a stop sign and US9 is not required to stop.  As the pickup truck entered the intersection of Kaye Road, the Corolla failed to stop at the posted stop sign and the front of the Corolla struck the right side of the pickup truck, causing it to rotate clockwise. As the truck rotated, it began to overturn and continue off the south side of US9 coming to an uncontrolled stop upright on its tires. After the impact, the Corolla traveled off the south side of US9 and struck a utility pole guide wire and came to an uncontrolled stop.

The 29-year-old man (hometown unknown at this time) was not properly restrained and pronounced deceased on scene. His name is being withheld pending notification of next of kin.

The 27-year-old Laurel man was properly restrained and sustained minor injuries. He was transported to Beebe Medical Center where he was treated and released.

The intersection of Kaye Road and US9, was closed for approximately four hours while the collision was investigated and cleared.
