Delaware – The Delaware State Police is aware of the multiple school shooting threats which have recently been shared on social media platforms over the past few weeks. Numerous posts and/or images have been shared nationwide which have affected various schools across the country. The threats reported to Delaware law enforcement agencies have been investigated and deemed non-credible. At this time, the Delaware State Police has no intelligence indicating any credible threat to Delaware schools. Be cognizant that the absence of intelligence does not mean the absence of a threat. Please call 9-1-1 or call the Delaware Anti-Terrorism Tip Line at 1-800-FORCE-1-2 (1-800-367-2312) to report any suspicious activity. You may also email information to force12@state.de.us.

Delaware State Police Investigate Fatal Motor Vehicle Collision – Laurel

Laurel- Delaware State Police are investigating a fatal motor vehicle collision that occurred Thursday afternoon on Seaford Road at the intersection to Mount Zion Road.

On Thursday, December 9, 2021, at approximately 4:38 p.m., a 1998 Honda Civic operated by a 25-year-old male of Seaford, DE, was traveling northbound on Seaford Road, just south of Mount Zion Road negotiating a slight right curve.  At this time, a 1998 Mazda B2500 operated by a 55-year-old male of Delmar, DE, was traveling southbound on Seaford Road in the same location. Due to unknown circumstances, the Honda and the Mazda struck head on in the northbound lane of Seaford Road.  

The 25-year-old operator of the Honda was not property restrained, and was taken to an area hospital in critical condition. Also inside of the Honda, there was an 18-year-old male front passenger from Philadelphia, PA . The front passenger was not properly restrained, and pronounced deceased at the scene. Identification is pending notification to the next of kin.

The 55-year-old operator of the Mazda was properly restrained, and transported to an area hospital in critical condition.

The roadway was closed for approximately 3 hours while the investigation was completed and the roadway was cleared.

The investigation remains on-going. **Update-Reward Offered** Delaware State Police Investigating Homicide of Lincoln Man- Frankford

Frankford- The Delaware State Police Homicide Unit continues investigating the murder of Dioandre D. Gibbs, 33 of Lincoln, that occurred back in May of 2021.

At approximately 3:35 p.m., Tuesday May 18, 2021, Frankford Police Department and Delaware State Troopers were dispatched to Honolulu Road in the area of Kauffman Lane for a reported shooting. When officers and troopers arrived on the scene, they discovered Dioandre Gibbs sitting in the driver’s seat of a gray 2012 Volkswagen CC with a gunshot wound. Through the investigations, it was determined Gibbs was shot on Kauffman Lane and attempted to drive away from the scene. He then lost control of the vehicle and crashed into the front of a residence located on Honolulu Road.

Dioandre Gibbs was transported to a nearby hospital by ambulance, where he was pronounced deceased. 

The Delaware State Police Homicide Unit, with the assistance of the Frankford Police Department, continues to investigate this case as it remains active and ongoing.

The family of Dioandre Gibbs have greatly assisted in this investigation. Partnering with Delaware Crime Stoppers, a $6,000 reward is being offered for information leading to an arrest.

*Traffic Advisory* State Troopers Investigating Serious Crash – Laurel

Laurel – Delaware State Police are on the scene of a serious motor vehicle crash that occurred at approximately 2:42 p.m. this afternoon, December 9, 2021, on Seaford Road at the intersection with Mount Zion Road.

As a result of the crash, Seaford Road is closed at the intersection for emergency response vehicles on scene. Motorists are advised to avoid the area and seek alternate routes of travel. The road closure is anticipated to be lengthy, with no estimated time for a re-opening.

Troopers Attempting to Locate Juvenile Escapee – Wilmington

Wilmington – Delaware State Police are currently investigating an escape from The Residential Cottages, a secure juvenile detention facility.

The incident occurred on Monday, December 6, 2021 at approximately 4:04 p.m. when Troopers were dispatched to The Residential Cottages located at 659 Centre Road, Wilmington.  Upon arrival, Troopers learned that 16-year-old Domingo Figueroa of Newport, Delaware, had escaped while being escorted on foot from the outside recreational area to the building.

Figueroa was last seen fleeing on foot towards Rt. 141 southbound.  Figueroa is described as a Hispanic male, 5’05” tall and approximately 100 lbs.  Figueroa was last seen wearing navy blue shirt and pants.

Figueroa currently has an active warrant out of Troop 6 for Escape Third Degree.

Delaware State Police Investigate Robbery of Convenience Store- Claymont

Claymont– Delaware State Police are investigating the robbery of a Claymont area convenience store that occurred Sunday morning.

At approximately 8:00 a.m., Sunday, December 5, 2021, troopers responded to the Circle K convenience store, located at 698 Naamans Road, Claymont, for a reported armed robbery. The investigation determined a male suspect entered the store, and confronted a male employee behind the sales counter. He then displayed a handgun, and demanded money from the register. The employee complied, and the suspect fled the store with an undisclosed amount of cash. He was last seen on foot traveling eastbound on Naamans Road. The employee was not injured as a result of the incident.

The suspect was described as a black male wearing all dark clothing. There are no suspect photographs available at this time.
