Sussex County, DE- Delaware State Troopers seek the public’s assistance locating Durron E. Jones II, 30, of Sussex County. 

Durron is currently wanted for multiple warrants, capias, and Violation of Probation. He is described as a black male, approximately 6’2″, and weighs approximately 180 lbs. Durron may be in the Dagsboro, Seaford, Bridgeville, or Delmar area.

*Traffic Advisory* Delaware State Police Investigating Serious Crash- Delmar

Delmar – Delaware State Police are on the scene of a serious motor vehicle crash that occurred at approximately 6:04 p.m. tonight, March 17, 2022, at the intersection of Delmar Road and North Spring Hill Road.

As a result of the crash, Delmar Road is closed for emergency response vehicles on scene. Motorists are advised to avoid the area and seek alternate routes of travel. The road closure is anticipated to be lengthy, with no estimated time for a re-opening.

*UPDATE* Delaware State Police Conducting Death Investigation

Seaford, DE- On March 16, 2022, at approximately 6:50 a.m., troopers were dispatched to a vehicle fire on a property in the 10000 block of Airport Road. When troopers arrived, they observed a vehicle fully engulfed in flames, and the body of a male was located in a nearby ditch. The victim, a 54-year-old male from Seaford, was pronounced deceased at the scene and was turned over to the Division of Forensic Science for an autopsy to be performed. 

The Delaware State Police Homicide Unit, in conjunction with the Division of Forensic Science, conducted an investigation that revealed there was no sign of foul play. Due to the sensitivity of this case, no further information will be provided.

Delaware State Police Conducting Death Investigation

Seaford, DE-  The Delaware State Police Homicide Unit is currently conducting a Death Investigation that occurred on March 16, 2022. At 6:50 a.m., Troopers responded to the report of a vehicle fire on a property in the 10000 block of Airport Road in Seaford. Upon arrival, they observed a vehicle fully engulfed in flames. Troopers located the body of a male in a nearby ditch. The victim, a 54 year old male from Seaford, was pronounced dead at the scene. The victim was turned over to the Division of Forensic Science for an autopsy. The name of the victim is being withheld pending next of kin notification.

Delaware State Police Investigating Fatal Motor Vehicle Crash– Millsboro

MillsboroDelaware State Police are investigating a fatal motor vehicle crash that occurred late Tuesday night on eastbound Millsboro Highway (Route 24) in the area of Revel Road.

On Tuesday, March 15, 2022, at approximately 11:21 p.m., a 2004 Ford Explorer operated by a 26-year-old female of Millsboro was traveling eastbound on Millsboro Highway (Route 24) just west of Revel Road. At this time, a 2006 Honda CRV operated by a 53-year-old female of Salisbury, MD was traveling westbound on Millsboro Highway in the same area.  While the Ford was traveling eastbound its right side struck a deer within the lane of travel. After impact with the deer, the Ford continued eastbound, but for unknown reasons crossed over the center line. The front of the Ford then struck the front of the Honda in the westbound lane of travel. After impact, the Ford rotated approximately 180 degrees before coming to rest in the eastbound lane of travel. The Honda was re-directed off the north edge of the roadway where it came to rest in an open field.

The 26-year-old operator of the Ford who not restrained was transported to Beebe Hospital with minor injuries.

The 53-year-old operator of the Honda who was properly restrained, was pronounced deceased at the scene of the collision.  Identification of the victim is pending notification to the next of kin.

The roadway was closed for approximately 4 hours while the investigation was completed, and the roadway was cleared.

This collision remains under investigation by the Delaware State Police Troop 7 Collision Reconstruction Unit. On March 13, 2022, Brittallia Semaan, 30, of New Castle, was arrested for two carjacking’s, kidnapping, and multiple collisions, including a fatal pedestrian crash. *UPDATE- Delaware State Police Investigate Fatal Pedestrian Collision Caused by Carjacking Suspect

New Castle– Delaware State Police are investigating a fatal pedestrian collision that occurred Sunday morning in New Castle.

On Sunday March 13, 2022, at approximately 9:34 a.m., Brittalia Semaan, 30, of New Castle, was operating a stolen 2018 Chevrolet Trax southbound on Route 9 in the area of Boothurst Boulevard. At this time, a pedestrian later identified as Joseph Stanavich, 47, of New Castle was walking southbound on the right shoulder of Route 9, just south of Boothhurst Boulevard. The Trax which was traveling at a high-rate of speed, for unknown reasons left the right lane of travel and struck the pedestrian within the right shoulder. After the collision, Semaan fled southbound on Route 9 in the stolen Chevrolet Trax. Semaan was subsequently apprehended in the area of Route 9 and Hamburg Road after a separate collision.

Stanavich was transported to a nearby hospital by EMS, where he succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased. Identification of the victim is pending notification to next of kin.

Semaan was not injured in the crash and was transported to Troop 2 where she was charged with Vehicular Homicide 2nd Degree (Felony), Leaving the Scene of a Collision Resulting in Death (Felony), Failing to Report a Collision Resulting in Death, and Failing to Maintain Lane of Travel.

Semaan was arraigned in the Justice of the Peace Court #11 and committed to the Delores J. Baylor Correctional Institution on $47,000 cash bond.

This case remains an active investigation by the Delaware State Police Troop 2 Collision Reconstruction Unit. *UPDATE* Troopers Investigating Two Carjacking’s, Fatal Pedestrian Crash and Multiple Crashes With Suspect in Custody

New Castle, DE- The Delaware State Police are currently investigating an incident where a suspect carjacked two vehicles and was involved in multiple collisions, involving a fatal pedestrian crash before being taken into custody.

At approximately 9:30 A.M., troopers were called to the 4000 block of New Castle Ave (Rt 9) for a reported carjacking. Initial reports from the scene indicated a female subject allegedly car jacked a victim and fled southbound on Rt. 9. Moments later, the suspect, still in the initial stolen vehicle, struck a pedestrian in the area of Rt 9 and Boothhurst Blvd. The pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene. The suspect continued to flee, and struck another pedestrian, causing minor injuries, in Old New Castle in the area South Street and 6th Street. She fled the scene and was involved in another collision on Washington Street. The suspect committed a second carjacking at this location, and kidnapped an adult victim who was still in the car. The suspect fled to southbound River Road where she ultimately crashed again in the area of Hamburg Rd. An off-duty police officer and a former law enforcement officer, who witnessed part of the incident, apprehended the suspect at the final crash scene. Troopers arrived on scene and took the suspect into custody without further incident. This is preliminary information and further details will be released when known and confirmed.
