Delaware State Police Troop 4 is issuing a Gold Alert for 22-year-old Bryan Suria-Vasquez of Lewes, Delaware. Suria-Vasquez was last seen on December 1, 2022, in the Bethany Beach area. Attempts to contact or locate Suria-Vasquez have been unsuccessful, and there is a concern for his safety and well-being.

Suria-Vasquez is described as a Hispanic male, approximately 5’06” tall, weighing approximately 197 pounds, with brown hair and brown eyes. He was last seen wearing a blue shirt, black sweater, black pants, and black shoes.

Delaware State Police are investigating a fatal motor vehicle collision that resulted in the deaths of four individuals in the New Castle area late last night.

On November 30, 2022, at approximately 11:30 p.m., a 2004 Ford F-150 was traveling southbound in the left northbound lane of Interstate 495 in the area of Route 13.  At the time, a 2020 Toyota Tacoma was traveling northbound on Interstate 495 in the left lane.  The Ford continued to travel southbound within the northbound lanes of Interstate 495 directly into the path of the Toyota resulting in a head on collision. Following the collision, both vehicles slightly rotated counterclockwise and came to rest a short distance from the point of impact.

The 48-year-old male operator of the Ford from Elkton, MD who was wearing his seatbelt, was pronounced deceased at the scene. Identification of the victim is pending notification to the next of kin.

The 41-year-old female operator of the Toyota from Philadelphia, PA, who was wearing her seatbelt, was pronounced deceased at the scene. Identification of the victim is pending notification to the next of kin. There were two occupants inside the Toyota, whose identities have not been confirmed at this time. They were both properly restrained and were pronounced deceased at an area hospital.

Interstate 495 northbound was closed between Interstate 95 and Route 13 for approximately five hours while the collision was investigated, and the roadway was cleared.

Delaware State Police are investigating a robbery that occurred Sunday evening at a Rehoboth Beach grocery store.

On November 27, 2022, at approximately 7:35 p.m., troopers responded to the Safeway located at 19283 Coastal Highway regarding a robbery that had just occurred. Troopers learned that an unknown woman had attempted to leave the store without paying for a cart full of personal care items. When the woman was confronted by a store employee, she pushed the cart into the employee and retrieved pepper spray from her shirt. The suspect then sprayed the employee before fleeing from the store with most of the items in the cart. The suspect was last seen traveling westbound on Miller Road in a large older-model black SUV. Responding troopers were unable to locate her or her vehicle following the incident.

The suspect is described as a white female with blonde hair and was last seen wearing dark jeans, a turquoise long-sleeve shirt, black gloves, and a facemask. Photographs of the suspect have been provided for reference.

Delaware State Police are investigating a fatal motor vehicle collision that occurred Sunday night in the Newark area.

On November 27, 2022, at approximately 10:40 p.m., a 2014 Chevrolet Silverado was traveling westbound in the left lane on Pulaski Highway (US 40). The Chevrolet was approaching the intersection at Pleasant Valley Road. A 2014 Subaru Forester, traveling eastbound in the westbound lane of Pulaski Highway, was also approaching the intersection and struck the Silverado in a head-on collision.

The driver of the Chevrolet, a 51-year-old male of Newark, was transported to an area hospital for treatment. The driver of the Subaru, a 45-year-old male of Elkton, MD, was transported to an area hospital. Sadly, he died while being treated at the hospital. The identification of the victim is pending notification to his family. Both drivers were wearing a seatbelt during the collision.

The roadway was closed for approximately 3 hours while the scene was being investigated and cleared.

Delaware State Police are investigating a shooting incident that occurred in the Hartly area on Friday night.

On Friday, November 25, 2022, at approximately 8:17 p.m., troopers responded to the 2500 block of Fords Corner Road, Hartly regarding a reported shooting. A 41-year-old male victim present at the residence heard a series of approximately 6-8 gunshots, one of which struck his house. The ensuing investigation revealed that the residence had been shot by one round that entered into an empty bedroom. The victim was not injured during this incident.

At this time there is no suspect information or surveillance images available.

The Delaware State Police are investigating the attempted robbery of a Newark area gas station that occurred Wednesday afternoon.

The incident occurred on November 23, 2022, at approximately 3:14 p.m., at the Shell gas station, located at 1148 Christiana Road, Newark. A male suspect entered the business and confronted an employee at the sales counter. The suspect displayed a knife and demanded money. The employee did not comply and ran out of the store. The suspect then fled the scene without obtaining any money or property and was seen traveling in a light-colored sedan westbound on Route 273. The employee was not injured during the incident.

The suspect was described as a black male, in his early 20’s approximately, 6’ tall, 200 lbs., wearing dark clothing and a mask.

No surveillance images are available at this time.

On November 23, 2022, at approximately 8:10 p.m., a 2005 Honda Civic was traveling northbound on North Old State Road south of Haflinger Road at a high rate of speed. The driver lost control of the vehicle and exited the east edge of the roadway. The vehicle then struck a Delmarva Power utility pole.

The driver, a 21-year-old male of Houston, Delaware, was not wearing a seatbelt during the collision. He was transported to an area hospital for life-threatening injuries. An 18-year-old male passenger of Houston, Delaware, was wearing a seatbelt during the collision. He was transported to an area hospital and treated for non-life-threatening injuries.

The roadway was closed for approximately three hours while the collision was being investigated and cleared.
