State Police Arrest Harbeson Man for Felony DUI and Drug Offenses

The Delaware State Police have arrested 43-year-old Michael Mock, of Harbeson, Delaware, for felony 3rd offense DUI and felony drug offenses following a traffic stop Sunday night.

On May 31, 2026, at approximately 9:40 p.m., a trooper saw a Chevrolet Camaro speeding and swerving while traveling westbound on John J. Williams Highway near Robinsonville Road. The trooper pulled the Camaro over and spoke to the driver, identified as Michael Mock, who showed multiple signs of impairment.  Standardized Field Sobriety Tests were administered, and after the tests, he was arrested for driving under the influence. During an inventory search of the Camaro, troopers found the following items:

  • Approximately 169.83 grams of heroin (approximately 5,661 bags)
  • .40 caliber handgun
  • Large capacity magazine and ammunition
  • Drug paraphernalia

A computer check showed that Mock had two prior DUI-related convictions.

Mock was taken to Troop 7, where he was charged with the offenses listed below, arraigned by Justice of the Peace Court 11, and committed to Sussex Correctional Institution on a $69,500 cash bond.

*Update* State Police Conducting Death Investigation of a 10-year-old in Smyrna

The Delaware State Police has arrested 49-year-old Badara Kone of Smyrna, Delaware, for the murder of his 10-year-old daughter, Fatima Kone, and the continuous child abuse of two additional children.

On May 28, 2026, at approximately 2:00 a.m., troopers responded to a residence on Oakwynn Circle in Smyrna where Fatima Kone was found deceased in her bedroom.  During the initial investigation, responding troopers requested assistance from the Delaware State Police Homicide Unit.

The preliminary investigation revealed that on May 27, 2026, Badara struck Fatima numerous times with a leather belt, as self-described discipline, causing serious physical injury. While being struck, the child fell to the ground and is believed to have hit her head on a piece of furniture. Following the assault, her siblings in the home assisted the victim to her bedroom. She was later found deceased, but 9-1-1 was not notified for an extended period of time.

During the investigation, the two male siblings, a 15-year-old and an 11-year-old, were transported to an area hospital for precautionary wellness evaluations.  There, detectives obtained evidence supporting the fact that the children had been continuously physically abused.

On May 28, 2026, Badara was taken to Troop 2, where he was charged with the offenses listed below for the abuse of the male children.  He was arraigned by the Justice of the Peace Court 3 and committed to the Delaware Department of Correction on a $17,000 cash bond.

Fatima’s body was turned over to the Delaware Division of Forensic Science, where an autopsy classified the death as a homicide caused by multiple blunt-force injuries.

On June 1, 2026, the Delaware Department of Justice authorized charges for the murder of Fatima.  A warrant was approved, and Badara was arraigned by the Justice of the Peace Court 2. He remained in custody of the Delaware Department of Correction on a $180,000 cash bond.

State Police Investigating Multiple Commercial Burglaries in Lewes

The Delaware State Police is investigating multiple commercial burglaries and attempted burglaries that occurred early Saturday morning along Coastal Highway in Lewes.

On May 30, 2026, at approximately 6:30 a.m., troopers responded to Coastal Plaza, located at 18388 Coastal Highway in Lewes, for a report of commercial burglaries and attempted burglaries at Go Brit, Cabana’s Restaurant, Tienda la Bendicion, and The Listening Booth. The preliminary investigation revealed that during the early morning hours, two unknown suspects forced entry, or attempted to force entry, into the businesses and either stole money or attempted to steal money. Troopers also learned of three additional incidents in the same area and similar in nature at Bushel’s Sports Bar and Grill, located at 18289 Coastal Highway, Café Pink Blossom, located at 18266 Coastal Highway, and Matt’s Fish Camp, located at 34401 Tenley Court.

Delaware State Police Troop 4 Criminal Investigations Unit continues to investigate these incidents. Detectives are asking anyone who may have witnessed suspicious activity in the area or has information relevant to the cases to contact Detective A. Stimac by calling (302) 752-3791. State Police Conducting Death Investigation in Alapocas Run State Park in Wilmington

The Delaware State Police is conducting a death investigation in Alapocas Run State Park in Wilmington.

On May 30, 2026, at approximately 10:45 p.m., troopers and the Delaware Natural Resources Police responded to the Northern Delaware Greenway Trail in Alapocas Run State Park for a report of a CPR in progress.  Responding troopers found 45-year-old Lori Rogers of Wilmington, Delaware, with obvious physical injuries and attempted life-saving efforts until EMS arrived. She was taken to an area hospital, where she died.

Due to the suspicious circumstances surrounding the victim’s death, the Delaware State Police Homicide Unit assumed the investigation.

The victim was turned over to the Delaware Division of Forensic Science to determine the cause and manner of death.

This is an active investigation, but there is no perceived danger to the public. Detectives are asking anyone with information about this case to contact Detective B. McDerby at (302) 741-2821. State Police Arrest Dover Woman for 5th DUI Offense After Crash into Ditch

The Delaware State Police arrested 59-year-old Carolyn Reed, from Dover, Delaware, on felony driving under the influence and related charges following a crash investigation Friday afternoon in Dover.

On May 29, 2026, at approximately 4:45 p.m., troopers responded to the 3500 block of West Denneys Road in Dover for a report of a vehicle that had driven off the roadway. When troopers arrived, they found a Ford Fusion in a ditch with its rear wheels suspended in the air. Troopers spoke with the driver, later identified as Carolyn Reed, and saw several signs of impairment during the investigation. After refusing to perform Standardized Field Sobriety Tests, Reed was taken into custody without incident. A computer check of Reed revealed she had four prior DUI convictions and a suspended driver’s license.

Reed was taken to Troop 9 where troopers obtained and executed a search warrant for a sample of her blood. She was charged with the below listed offenses, arraigned by Justice of the Peace Court 11, and committed to the Delores J. Baylor Women’s Correctional Institution on a $6,250 cash bond.

State Police Investigating Armed Robbery in Wilmington

The Delaware State Police is investigating an armed robbery that occurred Friday evening, in Wilmington.

On May 29, 2026, at approximately 5:00 p.m., troopers responded to the rear of a business in the 3800 block of Kirkwood Highway for a reported armed robbery. The preliminary investigation revealed the victim connected with the suspect through the social media platform TikTok. The two agreed to meet at a location on Maryland Avenue in Wilmington to ride their electric bikes together. After meeting, the two rode around the area for a period of time before the suspect lured the victim to the rear of a business on Kirkwood Highway under the pretense of creating videos.

Once behind the business, a second masked suspect approached the victim, displayed a handgun, and demanded the victim’s electric bike. The victim complied and both suspects fled the area with the stolen bike. The victim was not injured during the incident.

The Delaware State Police Criminal Investigations Unit continues to investigate this crime. Detectives ask anyone who witnessed the incident or has relevant information to contact Detective M. State Police Conducting Death Investigation of a 10-year-old in Smyrna

The Delaware State Police is conducting a death investigation of a 10-year-old in Smyrna.

On May 28, 2026, at approximately 2:00 a.m., troopers responded to a residence on Oakwynn Circle in Smyrna after a 10-year-old child was found deceased in her bedroom. State Police Arrest Three After Observing Drug Deal at Dover Gas Station

The Delaware State Police arrested 60-year-old Louis Tolson, from Magnolia, Delaware, 36-year-old Keara Harrington, of Dover, Delaware, and 32-year-old Stanley Baynard, from Greenwood, Delaware, on drug and related offenses after watching a drug transaction Tuesday night at a Dover gas station.

On May 26, 2026, at approximately 10:00 p.m., members of the Delaware State Police Special Investigations Unit were conducting surveillance at a gas station in the 2600 block of State Street in Dover, when they saw a blue pickup truck parked in the lot. The pickup was occupied by the driver, later identified as Stanley Baynard. A short time later, detectives observed a red sedan arrive and park nearby. Investigators saw the driver of the sedan, later identified as Louis Tolson, approach the pickup truck and engage in a hand-to-hand drug transaction with Baynard.

After the transaction, the sedan’s passenger, later identified as Keara Harrington, approached the pickup truck and briefly spoke with Baynard before the individuals left the area.

Investigators conducted a traffic stop on the pickup truck and contacted Baynard, who was taken into custody without incident. During a subsequent search, Detectives recovered approximately 1.44 grams of cocaine from Baynard.

Detectives also conducted a traffic stop on the red sedan and contacted Tolson and Harrington, who were both were taken into custody without incident. During a search of the vehicle, detectives recovered a digital scale.

Investigators further learned Tolson, who was on probation for a prior offense, lived with Harrington at a residence in the 4000 block of Rhode Island Drive in Dover. Members of Probation and Parole responded to the residence and located suspected narcotics in Tolson’s room. As a result, detectives obtained and executed a search warrant for the residence.

During the search, investigators recovered:

-Approximately 2.14 grams of suspected crack cocaine

-Approximately 103 bags of suspected heroin

-Additional drug paraphernalia

Baynard was issued a criminal summons for possession of a controlled substance and released from the scene.


Tolson was taken to Troop 3 where he was charged with the below listed offenses, arraigned by Justice of the Peace Court 11, and committed to the Sussex Correctional Institution on a $44,200 cash bond.

State Police Arrest Wilmington Man Following Multi-Month Heroin Distribution Investigation

The Delaware State Police arrested 33-year-old Shahir McCoy, from Wilmington, Delaware, on felony drug dealing and related offenses following a multi-month narcotics distribution investigation in Wilmington.

Beginning in February 2026, the Delaware State Police Special Investigations Unit opened an investigation after learning McCoy was selling heroin in Wilmington. During the investigation, detectives saw McCoy conduct multiple drug transactions over several months and determined he was operating from a residence in the 100 block of North Franklin Street. As a result, detectives obtained a search warrant for the residence.

On May 27, 2026, with assistance from the Delaware State Police Special Operations Response Team and the Wilmington Police Department, investigators executed the search warrant and took McCoy into custody without incident.

During the search, investigators recovered the following items:

-Approximately 420 bags of suspected heroin

-A loaded handgun and additional ammunition

-Approximately 26 grams of marijuana

-Digital scales and other drug-related paraphernalia

Investigators also determined McCoy has a prior felony conviction that prohibits him from legally possessing firearms.

McCoy was taken to Troop 2 where he was charged with the below listed offenses, arraigned by Justice of the Peace Court 2, and committed to the Howard R. Young Correctional Institution on a $210,200 cash bond.
