The Delaware State Police Community Outreach Unit was developed to foster positive relations with our communities in the First State as well as provide training and presentations to members of our community. The Delaware State Police believes our commitment and dedication to building partnerships and relationships with the residential and business communities across Delaware will only enhance our ability to be a highly effective law enforcement agency. Building stronger and safer neighborhoods fostered on trust of the Police. In an effort to achieve this, DSP maintains a presence in our communities’ schools, places of worship, neighborhood associations and civic organizations. By reaching out to communities in our jurisdiction in an open and honest fashion, we will build positive relationships and help to create safer communities and foster open dialogs on challenging issues and perceptions facing law enforcement and the communities we serve.
This program partners Troop Commanders of the DSP with some of Delaware’s distinguished community, civic and political leaders. The program encourages an exchange of ideas, experiences, and friendships between key leaders of the surrounding communities and the troop’s territory. By building and strengthening community relationships, commanders and honorary commanders can positively affect their community.
From our Trunk or Treat Program, to our Neighborhood Watch Program, to our Seniors and Law Enforcement Together, we aim to continue our positive involvement with every area of our community. Please join us and get involved with our programs. We have multiple programs throughout the year and would love for you to participate in The Honorary Commanders Program, the Community Cafes, Art Contests and Safe Summer Days!
