State Police Investigating Shots Fired Outside Dover Restaurant

The Delaware State Police is investigating a shots-fired incident that occurred early Saturday morning in the parking lot of a Dover restaurant.

On October 10, 2026, at approximately 2:40 a.m., troopers responded to the parking lot of a restaurant in the 4000 block of South Dupont Highway in Dover for a report of shots fired. The preliminary investigation revealed a male suspect was walking through the parking lot when an unknown vehicle drove past at a high rate of speed, nearly striking him. The suspect then retrieved a handgun and fired multiple shots at the unknown vehicle before fleeing the area.

No injuries or property damage were reported.

The Delaware State Police Criminal Investigations Unit took over the case. Detectives found multiple spent shell casings at the scene.

The suspect was described as a black male with dreadlocks, wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt over a black t-shirt, and gray sweatpants.

The Delaware State Police Criminal Investigations Unit continues to investigate this incident.
