State Police Investigating Strong Arm Robbery in New Castle

The Delaware State Police is investigating a strong-arm robbery that occurred Tuesday night in New Castle.

On September 15, 2026, at approximately 9:20 p.m., troopers responded to the 3000 block of New Castle Avenue for a reported robbery. The preliminary investigation revealed that the victim was waiting at a bus stop when a male suspect approached and demanded the victim’s personal property. The suspect then struck the victim and forcefully took the victim’s property before fleeing the area.

The victim was taken to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The Delaware State Police Criminal Investigations Unit took over the case. Detectives ask anyone with information relevant to the investigation to contact Detective D. Patterson at (302) 365-8471.
