The Delaware State Police have arrested 30–year-old Jaquell McDonald, of Lincoln, Delaware, for felony charges following a pursuit and crash that occurred Sunday afternoon near Milton.
On September 13, 2026, at approximately 1:25 p.m., a trooper saw a Maserati Levante speeding northbound on Coastal Highway near Deep Branch Road. The trooper tried to pull it over, but it sped away. During the pursuit, the Maserati drove recklessly and at a high rate of speed on Coastal Highway and several area roads, ultimately coming to a stop after colliding with a Nissan Rogue at Union Street Extended and Coastal Highway. After the collision the driver of the Maserati, identified as Jaquell McDonald, ran away and was seen discarding approximately 60.76 grams of cocaine. He was taken into custody without incident.
During a search of the Maserati, troopers found approximately 46.75 grams of marijuana, $5,696 in suspected drug proceeds, and fake driver’s licenses from Arizona and Nevada.
The driver and passenger of the Nissan, a 65-year-old man and a 61-year-old woman, both from Pennsylvania, had minor injuries but refused transport to the hospital.
The roadway was closed for an extended time while the scene was investigated and cleared.
McDonald was taken to an area hospital for non-life-threatening injuries. After being released, he was taken to Troop 7 where he was charged with the crimes listed below, arraigned by the Justice of the Peace, and committed to the Department of Correction on $75,514 cash bond.
