The Delaware State Police arrested 35-year-old Johnny Guzman, from New Castle, Delaware, on felony offenses and driving under the influence of alcohol following a crash investigation at a Newark Pub.
On August 15, 2026, at approximately 1:30 a.m., troopers responded to Two Stones Pub, located at 1203 Christiana Road, for a report that a vehicle had crashed into the building. Responding troopers found an unoccupied Mitsubishi Lancer that had crashed into the front of the building. The business was closed and no one was inside. Documents belonging to Guzman were located inside the vehicle.
A short time later, troopers located Guzman walking westbound along Christiana Road, away from the scene. Guzman showed several signs of impairment and refused to perform any Standardized Field Sobriety Tests. Guzman was taken to a local hospital due to his impairment while troopers obtained and executed a search warrant for his blood.
The investigation revealed that Guzman was a patron at the pub earlier that night. Staff asked him to leave multiple times, but Guzman remained on the property for several hours. Guzman eventually entered his Mitsubishi and, as he drove away, accelerated and intentionally turned toward the pub’s front doors, crashing into the building.
On August 20, 2026, troopers obtained a warrant for Guzman’s arrest and he turned himself in at Troop 6. He was arraigned by the Justice of the Peace Court and released on a $2,650 unsecured bond.
