The Delaware State Police are investigating a fatal three-vehicle crash that occurred Saturday in Laurel.
On February 7, 2026, at approximately 6:25 p.m., a Chevrolet Silverado was traveling westbound, in the crossover, at Sussex Highway and Mount Zion Road. At the same time, an Infiniti QX60 was traveling southbound on Sussex Highway approaching Mount Zion Road and a Ford Escape was traveling behind the Infiniti. The preliminary investigation revealed that the Silverado attempted to cross Sussex Highway and pulled into the path of the Infiniti. As a result, the front of the Infiniti struck the passenger’s side of the Chevrolet, and the front of the Ford struck the rear of the Infiniti.
The Infiniti’s third-row seat passenger, 43-year-old Latisha Horsey, from Milford, Delaware, was taken to an area hospital with life-threatening injuries. On February 8th, she died from her injuries. The driver of the Infiniti, a 38-year-old woman from Scott Air Force Base, Illinois, and passengers, a 44-year-old man from Phoenix, Arizona, a 42-year-old man from Milford, Delaware, and a 40-year-old man from El Paso, Texas, were all taken to an area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
The driver of the Ford, a 60-year-old man from Laurel, Delaware, was taken to an area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
The driver of the Chevrolet, a 39-year-old man and two child passengers, all from Millsboro, Delaware, were not hurt.
The Delaware State Police Troop 7 Collision Reconstruction Unit continues to investigate this crash. Troopers ask anyone who witnessed the crash or has relevant information to contact Senior Corporal J. Smith at (302) 703-3267.
