Delaware State Police have arrested 22-year-old Wajahne Leggett, from Wilmington, Delaware, for felony drug charges during a DUI checkpoint early Thursday morning in New Castle.
On November 27, 2025, troopers and partnering agencies were working a DUI checkpoint, organized by the Office of Highway Safety, on Wilmington Road, near Municipal Boulevard, in New Castle. At approximately 12:15 a.m., a Toyota Camry entered the checkpoint and troopers contacted the driver, identified as Wajahne Leggett. Troopers saw cash and several individually packaged bags of suspected marijuana in plain view, consistent with drug sales. A search of the Camry led to the discovery of 481 grams of suspected marijuana and $1,230.00 in suspected drug proceeds.
Leggett was arrested and taken to the New Castle City Police Department where he was charged with the below listed offenses, arraigned by Justice of the Peace Court 11, and released on a $3,000.00 unsecured bond.
