The Delaware State Police have arrested 31-year-old Derrick Edwards of Millsboro, Delaware and 28-year-old Faythe Wise of Seaford, Delaware on felony gun charges following a traffic stop that occurred last night in Bridgeville.
On August 12, 2025, at approximately 9:31 p.m., a trooper on patrol saw a black Dodge Charger fail to properly stop at the stop sign at Coverdale Road and Hastings Farm Road. The trooper stopped the car and contacted the driver, identified as Faythe Wise, as well as the passenger, identified as Derrick Edwards. During the stop, the trooper discovered that there were two concealed and loaded handguns on the back seat floorboard. Both were detained without incident.
Edwards, who is a convicted felon and prohibited from possessing a firearm and/or ammunition, was found to be in violation of an active protection from abuse (PFA) order. He was arrested and taken to Troop 5, where he was charged with the crimes listed below, arraigned by Justice of the Peace Court 7, and released on $16,500 unsecured bond.

- Carrying a Concealed Firearm (Felony)
- Conspiracy Second Degree (Felony)
- Criminal Contempt of a Domestic Violence Protection Order
Wise was arrested and taken to Troop 5, where she was charged with the crimes listed below, arraigned by Justice of the Peace Court 7, and released on her own recognizance.
