Two Men Arrested for Felony Drug Charges Near Millsboro

Delaware State Police have arrested 52-year-old Jerome Johnson of Rehoboth Beach, Delaware and 42-year-old Troy Sanders of Bridgeville for felony drug and related charges near Millsboro.

On March 6, 2025, at approximately 9:43 p.m., members of the Sussex County Governor’s Task Force were on patrol and saw a red Ford Mustang traveling eastbound on John J. Williams Highway near Bay Farm Road. Detectives observed the Mustang fail to signal properly when turning southbound onto Bay Farm Road and attempted to pull it over. The Mustang pulled into a driveway on the 26000 block of Bay Farm Road, sped through the yard, and struck a tree. After striking the tree the driver, identified as Jerome Johnson, and the passenger, identified as Troy Sanders, both fled but were quickly taken into custody. A computer check showed that Johnson had active capias warrants and a revoked driver’s license. A subsequent search of Johnson, Sanders, the crash scene, and the Mustang, led to the discovery of the following items:

  • Approximately 3.87 grams of heroin
  • Approximately 11.97 grams of crack cocaine

Johnson was taken to Troop 4, where he was charged with the crimes listed below, arraigned by Justice of the Peace Court 7, and committed to Sussex Correctional Institution on a $35,501 cash bond.

  • Driving while Suspended or Revoked
  • Failure to Signal Continuously Not Less than 300 feet

Sanders was taken to Troop 4, where he was charged with the crimes listed below, arraigned by Justice of the Peace Court 7, and committed to Sussex Correctional Institution on a $6,800 secured bond.
