State Police Arrest Kansas Man for Burglary

Delaware State Police arrested 65-year-old Michael Paulino of Gardner, Kansas, on Friday afternoon following a burglary investigation at Reybold Homes.

On February 28, 2025, at approximately 1 p.m., troopers observed an unknown white male on the roof of a business located at 2350 Pulaski Highway in Newark. The man was seen removing various pieces of metal and throwing them to the ground near his parked vehicle. When troopers contacted the property management, they confirmed that no one had permission to be on the premises.

A short time later, the suspect exited the roof and walked out of the building’s interior. When asked to identify himself, he provided a false name. However, troopers were able to confirm his identity as Michael Paulino through a computer search and a Kansas ID card. Troopers also found Paulino in possession of a crowbar and metal clippers, which he used to remove metal from the building.

Further checks revealed that Paulino had two active capiases. He was taken into custody without incident and transported to Troop 2, where he was charged with the below-listed offenses.
