On June 1, 2024, at approximately 5:41 p.m., troopers responded to the area of Coastal Highway and Wescoats Road for a road rage incident involving a knife. The investigation revealed that a white male suspect operating a moped came to a stop in front of a car at a red light on Coastal Highway. The suspect approached the car and threatened to harm the two occupants while holding a knife. As the victims called 9-1-1, the suspect got back on the moped and fled southbound on Coastal Highway. A short time later, a trooper observed a white male matching the description of the suspect as he was driving southbound near Airport Road. The trooper pulled the moped over, and spoke to the driver, later identified as Tyler Draine.
