Troopers Arrest Laurel Woman for Multiple Felony Gun Offenses

The Delaware State Police arrested 34-year-old Victoria Bolen, of Laurel, Delaware, for multiple felony gun offenses early Wednesday morning in Seaford.

On November 29, 2023, at approximately 2:32 a.m., a trooper on patrol observed a Ford Escape and an Izuzu Rodeo that appeared to be disabled on the shoulder of Sussex Highway northbound in the area of Airport Road. The trooper stopped to check on the individuals and made contact with three people, one of whom he recognized from previous investigations as Victoria Bolen. Due to previous knowledge of Bolen’s driver’s license being suspended, the trooper conducted a computer inquiry and found that she had active two capiases for her arrest. While taking Bolen into custody, a search of her person led to the discovery of multiple drug paraphernalia including wax bags, hypodermic needles, and a glass pipe with burnt ends. During the investigation, troopers recovered a loaded handgun with an obliterated serial number that was partially in plain view between the Ford’s driver’s seat and center console.

Bolen is prohibited from owning a firearm or ammunition due to a previous felony conviction. She was taken to Troop 5 and charged with the following crimes:

  • Possession of a Firearm by a Person Prohibited (Felony)
  • Possession of Ammunition by a Person Prohibited (Felony)
  • Possession of a Weapon with an Obliterated Serial Number (Felony)
  • Possession of Drug Paraphernalia

Bolen was arraigned by Justice of the Peace Court 3 and committed to Delores J. Baylor Women’s Correctional Institution on a $5,000 cash bond.
