Troop 2 Collision Reconstruction Unit Investigating Fatal Single-Car Crash

The Delaware State Police are investigating a fatal single-car crash that occurred Thursday night in Bear that left one man dead.

On November 2, 2023, at approximately 11:56 p.m., a gray 2015 Toyota RAV4 was traveling northbound on Wrangle Hill Road, north of Mabel Lane. For unknown reasons, the RAV4 made an abrupt left turn across the oncoming southbound lanes of Wrangle Hill Road. The RAV4 traveled off the roadway, where it collided head-on into a large tree and became engulfed in fire.

The driver of the RAV4 was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver’s name is being withheld until his family and relatives are notified.

The roadway was closed for approximately 3.5 hours while the scene was investigated and the roadway was cleared

The Delaware State Police Troop 2 Collision Reconstruction Unit continues investigating this incident. Troopers are asking anyone who witnessed this crash to contact Sergeant J.
