Delaware State Police Seek Public’s Assistance in Death Investigation

Delaware State Police are investigating the death of 54-year-old Lorenzo Gomez-Lopez of Laurel, Delaware.

Delaware State Police are asking for the public’s help with the death investigation of Lorenzo Gomez-Lopez, discovered on June 21, 2023, at approximately 1:30 p.m., at the Delaware Recycling Center at 1101 Lambson Lane in New Castle. At that time, troopers responded to the recycling center after Gomez-Lopez was found dead by employees in a processing area. It should be noted that he was not an employee of the recycling center. The cause of death is unknown at this time, and the autopsy results are pending.

Gomez-Lopez was last seen on Sunday, June 18, sitting outside a home on the 9000 block of Yew Drive in Laurel, Delaware, around 2 p.m. He was no longer there when the family returned around 7 p.m., and his whereabouts until the discovery of his body are unknown.

Detectives have been pursuing leads since the onset of this investigation, and as it continues, detectives are asking for the public’s assistance.
