The Delaware State Police arrested 33-year-old Edward Stewart of Bridgeville, Delaware following a traffic stop that took place in Seaford yesterday morning. Stewart was wanted as a suspect in a shooting that took place on June 18, 2023.
On July 17, 2023, at approximately 11:00 a.m., troopers saw Stewart driving a white Ford Expedition on Sussex Highway in Seaford. Troopers were familiar with Stewart and knew that he had several active warrants for his arrest. Troopers stopped the car as it pulled into the Comfort Suites hotel parking lot, located at 23420 Sussex Highway, and took Stewart into custody without incident.
Stewart was taken to Troop 4, where he was arraigned by Justice of the Peace Court 3 and committed to Sussex Correctional Institution on $116,000 cash bond.
