Troopers Arrest Two Men for Felony Theft

The Delaware State Police have arrested 48-year-old Michael Napolitano and 60-year-old Ronald Ruthardt both of Wilmington, Delaware for a felony theft in Wilmington this morning.

On July 17, 2023, at approximately 2:12 a.m., troopers responded to an office building on the 2900 block of Concord Pike for two men stealing parts from air conditioning units. Troopers arrived at the scene and saw the two men, later identified as Michael Napolitano and Ronald Ruthardt, taking apart an air conditioning unit. Upon spotting the troopers, Napolitano fled on foot while Ruthardt remained at the scene and was taken into custody. Troopers and K9 Chico searched the area and located Napolitano hiding in the neighborhood behind the business. He was taken into custody without further incident.

Napolitano and Ruthardt were taken to Troop 1 and charged with the following crimes:

Michael Napolitano:

  • Theft Over $1,500 (Felony)
  • Criminal Mischief (Felony)
  • Conspiracy Second Degree (Felony)
  • Resisting Arrest
  • Criminal Trespass Second Degree

Napolitano was arraigned by Justice of the Peace Court 2 and released on a $4,500 unsecured bond.

Ronald Ruthardt:

  • Theft Over $1,500 (Felony)
  • Criminal Mischief (Felony)
  • Conspiracy Second Degree (Felony)
  • Criminal Trespass Second Degree

Ruthardt was arraigned by Justice of the Peace Court 2 and released on a $3,500 unsecured bond.
