The Delaware State Police are investigating a robbery that occurred Sunday morning at the Family Dollar in Wilmington.
On July 9, 2023, at approximately 9:49 a.m., an unknown black female suspect walked into the Family Dollar located at 1914 Maryland Avenue, Wilmington, and demanded money from employees at the register. The suspect then threatened to shoot employees and implied that she had a gun. The victims complied, and the suspect fled from the business on foot with an undisclosed amount of cash. Responding troopers attempted to find the suspect in the surrounding area but were unable to locate her.
There are no reported injuries. The suspect is described as a black female wearing dark colored clothing. Surveillance images and video are not yet available.
The Troop 2 Robbery Unit is investigating this incident. Detectives are asking for anyone with information regarding this case to contact Detective D. Armstrong by calling 302-365-8440. Information may also be provided by sending a private Facebook message to the Delaware State Police or contacting Delaware Crime Stoppers at 1-800-847-3333.
