The Delaware State Police arrested Trent Ingalls, 20, of Milford, DE, a 17-year-old juvenile male of Seaford, DE, and a 15-year-old juvenile male of Seaford, DE for murder and related charges following an incident in October.

On October 11, 2022, at approximately 11:53 p.m., troopers responded to a residence located in the 2800 block of West Stein Highway, Seaford, for a reported home invasion with a shooting where two residents were located struck by gunfire. The male victim identified as Carl Pedone Jr., 19, of Seaford, was shot multiple times in the torso. He was transported to an area hospital where he was pronounced deceased. The second victim, a 19-year-old female of Seaford, was also struck once in her lower extremity. She was transported to an area hospital where she was treated and released.

The investigation determined five suspects made forced entry through the rear door of the residence. Once inside, the suspects brandished handguns and went directly to the victim’s bedroom where he and the female victim were located, and demanded an unknown item. The male victim was shot inside his bedroom and the female victim was shot seated on a chair in the same room. Also, inside the residence at the time of this incident was an infant child and two other adults that also reside at this address. They were not injured during the incident.

Through investigative means, Trent Ingalls and the two juvenile males were identified as the suspects.  On April 24, 2023, Trent Ingalls and the 17-year-old juvenile male were indicted by a Sussex County Grand Jury for murder.

On April 26, 2023, the 17-year-old juvenile male was located at his residence and taken into custody without incident. He was transported to Troop 5 and charged with:

  • Murder First Degree (Felony)- 2 Counts
  • Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of a Felony (Felony)- 4 Counts
  • Reckless Endangering 1st Degree (Felony)
  • Home Invasion (Felony)
  • Assault First Degree (Felony)
  • Conspiracy First Degree (Felony)
  • Conspiracy Second Degree (Felony)

The 17-year-old juvenile male was arraigned at Justice of the Peace Court # 3 and committed to the Stevenson House Detention Center on a $782,000 cash bond.

On April 27, 2023, Trent Ingalls was stopped by the Vermont State Police in the area of Rutland, Vermont, and was taken into custody without incident.  Trent Ingalls is being held in the Vermont Department of Corrections on a fugitive warrant pending extradition to Delaware for the charges of:

  • Murder First Degree (Felony)- 2 Counts
  • Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of a Felony (Felony)- 4 Counts
  • Reckless Endangering 1st Degree (Felony)
  • Home Invasion (Felony)
  • Assault First Degree (Felony)
  • Conspiracy First Degree (Felony)
  • Conspiracy Second Degree (Felony)

Also on April 26th, 2023, the 15-year-old juvenile male turned himself into Troop 5. He was processed and charged with:

  • Murder First Degree (Felony)
  • Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of a Felony (Felony)- 4 Counts
  • Home Invasion (Felony)
  • Reckless Endangering First Degree (Felony)
  • Assault First Degree (Felony)
  • Conspiracy First Degree (Felony)

The 15-year-old juvenile male was arraigned in the Justice of the Peace Court #3 and committed to the New Castle County Detention Center on a $527,000 cash bond.

Two suspects have not been identified at this time.

The Homicide Unit is still actively investigating this incident. Detectives are asking anyone with information regarding this case to contact Detective A. Bluto by calling 302-741-2859.
