Troopers Arrest Suspect for Aggravated Menacing

Delaware State Police arrested 33-year-old Timothy Littleton of Lewes, DE for aggravated menacing and related charges following an incident involving a handgun Saturday night.

On January 14, 2023, at approximately 11:17 p.m., troopers responded to the 20000 block of Plantations Road, Lewes, DE for a report of shots fired. The ensuing investigation revealed that Littleton had a verbal argument with a 37-year-old female acquaintance inside the residence. During the argument, Littleton displayed a handgun and pointed it at the victim. The victim fled the residence on foot and a gunshot was fired. The victim was not injured, and she contacted the police. While at the scene troopers secured a perimeter and located Littleton in the woods behind the residence. Littleton failed to comply with troopers’ commands and was taken into custody after a taser deployment. Additionally, troopers recovered a rifle on the ground near Littleton. The handgun used to threaten the victim has not been recovered at this time. There were three children present inside the residence during the incident.

Littleton was transported to Troop 7 and charged with the following crimes:

  • Aggravated Menacing (Felony)
  • Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of a Felony (Felony)
  • Endangering the Welfare of a Child- 3 counts
  • Resisting Arrest

Littleton was arraigned by the Justice of the Peace Court # 3 and committed to the Sussex Correctional Institution on a $70,000 cash bond.
