Delaware State Police Arrests Two Subjects for Tobacco Store Robbery

Delaware State Police have arrested Christopher Harmon, 31 and Andre Harmon, 28, both of Newark, DE, for robbery and related charges following an incident that occurred yesterday morning.

On October 13, 2022, at approximately 08:31 a.m., troopers responded to the Four Seasons Tobacco Outlet located at 638 Plaza Drive, Newark for a report of a robbery. Investigation determined two suspects entered the store and approached an employee at the sales counter. One suspect forced his way behind the sales counter while displaying a knife and demanded money. Both suspects then forced the employee into a back room. While inside the back room, the second suspect displayed a handgun and threatened the victim. Both suspects obtained an undisclosed amount of cash and merchandise and fled the scene. The victim was not injured during the incident.

Through investigative means troopers were able to determine the suspect vehicle used to flee the scene. At approximately 12:30 p.m., with the assistance of the Newark Police Department the suspect vehicle was located traveling in the area of Elkton Road and Route 4. Officers followed the vehicle to the area of Route 4 and Gender Road, where a traffic stop was initiated and the suspects, identified as Christopher Harmon and Andre Harmon were taken into custody without incident.

Christopher and Andre were transported to Troop 2 where they were each charged with the following crimes:

  • Conspiracy 2nd Degree (Felony)
  • Wearing a Disguise During the Commission of Felony (Felony)

Christopher Harmon was arraigned in the Justice of the Peace Court #3 and committed to the Howard R. Young Correctional Institution on $67,000 cash bond.

  • Robbery 1st Degree (Felony)
  • Conspiracy 2nd Degree (Felony)
  • Wearing a Disguise During the Commission of Felony (Felony)

Andre Harmon was arraigned in the Justice of the Peace Court #3 and committed to the Howard R. Young Correctional Institution on $67,000 cash bond.
