The Delaware State Police have arrested Larisha Banner, 39, and Demetrius Banks, 25, both of Wilmington, DE in connection with a robbery that occurred in April of this year.

On April 26th, 2022, at approximately 6:06 p.m., troopers responded to the Family Dollar located at 2021 Kirkwood Highway, Wilmington, for a reported robbery. The investigation determined three subjects entered the business and attempted to remove merchandise without paying. When store employees confronted the subjects, a physical altercation ensued which resulted in two employees sustaining minor injuries. The three suspects then fled the area. The victims refused medical treatment at the scene.

Through investigative means troopers identified two of the suspects as Larisha Banner and Demetrius Banks and obtained warrants for their arrest.

On May 5, 2022, Larisha was contacted during a traffic stop and taken into custody without incident, Larisha was transported to Troop 6 and charged with:

  • Robbery Second Degree (Felony)
  • Conspiracy Second Degree (Felony)
  • Assault Third Degree

Larisha was arraigned in the Justice of the Court and posted bail on a $7,000 secured bond.

On May 31, 2022, Demetrius was located by Wilmington PD officers and taken into custody without incident. Demetrius was turned over to state police and transported to Troop 6 where he was charged with:

  • Robbery Second Degree (Felony)
  • Conspiracy Second Degree (Felony)
  • Assault Third Degree
  • Terroristic Threatening

Demetrius was arraigned in the Justice of the Court #11 and committed to the Howard R. Young Correctional Institution on $2,500 secured bond.

The third suspect has not been identified at this time.
