Delaware State Police have arrested 31-year-old Jesse Drummond of Bridgeville, DE on felony drug charges following a traffic stop that occurred in the Lewes area on Thursday morning.
On May 19, 2022, at approximately 2:15 a.m., a trooper on patrol observed a white Lincoln MKX traveling westbound on John J. Williams Highway west of Camp Arrowhead Road. The trooper noticed that the vehicle failed to maintain its lane of travel as it crossed the center line and fog line on the roadway. The trooper initiated a traffic stop and made contact with the operator and sole occupant of the vehicle, identified as Jesse Drummond. Ensuing computer checks of Drummond revealed that his driver’s license was suspended and he had an active warrant for his arrest. Troopers also detected the strong odor of marijuana emitting from the car’s interior. Drummond was taken into custody at the scene without incident. A subsequent search of Drummond and the vehicle led to the discovery of approximately 15.4 grams of cocaine, approximately 9.25 grams of marijuana, drug paraphernalia, and over $2,400 in suspected drug proceeds.
Drummond was transported to Troop 7 and charged with the following offenses:
- Possession With Intent to Deliver a Controlled Substance in a Tier 2 Quantity (Felony)
- Possession With Intent to Deliver a Controlled Substance (Felony)
- Tampering With Evidence (Felony)
- Possession of Drug Paraphernalia – 2 counts
- Driving While Suspended / Revoked
- Failure to Remain Within a Single Lane
Drummond was arraigned by Justice of the Peace Court # 3 and committed to Sussex Correctional Institution on $33,401 cash bond.
