*UPDATE- SUSPECT ARRESTED AND VICTIM IDENTIFIED* Troopers Investigate Shooting Incident in Magnolia Community

Magnolia, DE- Delaware State Police arrested two Kent County men Thursday following a shooting incident that occurred early Thursday morning.  

On March 3, 2022, at approximately 12:05 a.m., Delaware State Police responded to the 200 block of Jeffrey Drive, in the London Village Community, for a male, with an apparent gunshot wound to his torso. Through investigative measures, Delaware State Police Homicide Detectives determined Christopher Evans,19, of Dover, was sitting inside a vehicle arguing with a female acquaintance through the car window when the argument escalated to a physical altercation. When the victim, Michael Kressman, 30, of  Magnolia, came to the aid of the female, he was shot by Keyonte Brown, 21, of Dover, who was also in the vehicle. Michael was transported to an area hospital by EMS, where he was pronounced deceased.

Keyonte Brown was charged with Murder First Degree (Felony), Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of a Felony (Felony), and Carrying a Concealed Deadly Weapon (Felony).  He was arraigned in the Justice of the Peace Court #3 and committed to Sussex Correction Institution on a $1,085,000 Cash Bond.

Christopher Evans was charged with Aggravated Menacing (Felony), Possession of a Deadly Weapon During the Commission of a Felony (Felony), and Carrying a Concealed Deadly Weapon (Felony).  He was arraigned in the Justice of the Peace Court #7 and committed to the Department of Corrections on $24,000 Secured Bond.
