Dover, DE- Delaware State Police arrested Marc Cushman, 41, of Dover, and Caitlyn Buckley, 20, of Smyrna, for weapon and drug charges following a traffic stop in Dover.
On January 26, 2022, at approximately 10:29 p.m., a trooper on routine patrol in the area of South DuPont Hwy (US 13) and S. State Street observed a white Cadillac Escalade traveling southbound on US 13 at a high rate of speed with no license plate displayed. The driver made an abrupt right turn into the Rite Aid parking lot located at 1580 S. DuPont Hwy. A traffic stop was initiated on the Escalade. The driver began driving in a circular motion in the parking lot before finally parking in a parking space. Contact was made with the driver, who was later identified as Marc Cushman, and passenger Caitlyn Buckley. Cushman was observed making furtive movements in the vehicle during the traffic stop. The trooper asked Cushman to exit the Cadillac, and a criminal investigation ensued. Drug paraphernalia was observed in plain view inside the vehicle, and Caitlyn was asked to exit. Upon exiting, Caitlyn became disorderly, and while being taken into custody, a silver revolver was observed inside the vehicle. Cushman was taken into custody without incident. An odor of marijuana was detected emitting from inside the Escalade, and a probable cause search was conducted with the following items located:
Cushman and Caitlyn were charged with the following crimes at Delaware State Police Troop 3:

Marc was arraigned in the Justice of the Peace Court #7 and committed to Sussex Correctional Institution on a $6,103.00 cash bond.
Caitlyn Buckley
Caitlyn was arraigned in the Justice of the Peace Court #7 and released on her own recognizance.
