Lincoln- Delaware State Police arrested Abel Ramirez-Lopez, 36, of Lincoln, DE, for felony assault and related charges following an incident early Saturday morning.

On December 11, 2021, at approximately 12:30 a.m., troopers responded to Bogan Drive, Lincoln, for a report of an assault. The investigation determined Abel Ramirez-Lopez had an argument with a 25-year-old female acquaintance, which escalated into a physical altercation. During the incident Abel struck the victim in the face multiple times and slammed her head against a table. The victim sustained a laceration and injuries to the head from the incident, and was treated at an area hospital. Abel was taken into custody at the scene by responding troopers. There were four children present in the residence, none of whom were injured.

Abel was transported to Delaware State Police Troop 2 and charged with the following crimes:

• Assault 2^nd Degree (Felony)
• Endangering the Welfare of a Child – 4 counts

Abel was arraigned in the Justice of the Peace Court #3, and committed to the Sussex Correctional Institution on $14,000 cash bond.
