New Castle, DE- Delaware State Police arrested Thomas Gordon, 61, of Long Island City, NY, for burglary and related charges after he broke into an automobile store to steal equipment to fix a stolen vehicle he was driving.
On October 29, 2021, at approximately 11:31 p.m., troopers were dispatched to Firestone Complete Auto Care located at 2098 New Castle Avenue for a security alarm activation. When troopers arrived, they observed a large hole in a garage door window and located a male subject walking through the parking lot of the business. The male was contacted and identified as Thomas Gordon. During the investigation, Gordon was identified as the suspect in the burglary. Investigative measures determined Gordon arrived to Firestone in a 2017 Nissan Rogue. He then damaged the garage door and made entry inside where he stole hand tools he needed to fix the Nissan Rogue he was driving. Gordon then fled from the business before being contacted by troopers. A computer search conducted determined the 2017 Nissan Rogue was reported stolen out of New York and an active warrant was issued for Gordon’s arrest for the stolen vehicle.
Gordon was taken into custody without incident and transported to Delaware State Police Troop 2 where he was charged with the following crimes:
Gordon was arraigned in the Justice of the Peace Court #11 and committed to Howard R Young Correctional Institution on a $3,050.00 secured bond. The is currently no photograph available for Thomas Gordon.
