Troopers Arrest Two Juveniles for Receiving Stolen Property After Being Located in a Stolen Vehicle- Wilmington

Wilmington- Delaware State Police have arrested a 15-year-old male and a 13-year-old male both of Wilmington, DE for receiving stolen property and related charges following a car stop in a stolen vehicle.

On Tuesday, October 19, 2021, at approximately 6:14 p.m., troopers were on proactive patrol in the area of North Wilmington due to recent carjacking’s and located a stolen 2010 Toyota Corolla in the parking of Wawa located at 2621 Philadelphia Pike, Claymont. Troopers followed the vehicle out of the parking lot and initiated a traffic stop in the area of Washington Street Extension and Lea Boulevard, Wilmington. The 15-year-old operator and 13-year-old passenger were taken into custody without incident.

The recovered Toyota Corolla was reported stolen by the Trenton Police Department in New Jersey on October 10, 2021.

The 15-year-old juvenile was transported back to Troop 2 and charged with the following crimes:

  • Receiving Stolen Property (Felony)
  • Conspiracy 2nd Degree (Felony)

The 15-year-old suspect was arraigned in the Justice of the Peace Court #2 and committed to the New Castle County Juvenile Detention Center on $2,000 secured bond.

The 13-year-old juvenile was transported back to Troop 2 and charged with the following crimes:

  • Receiving Stolen Property (Felony)
  • Conspiracy 2nd Degree (Felony)

The 13-year-old suspect was arraigned in the Justice of the Peace Court #2 and committed to the New Castle County Juvenile Detention Center on $2,000 secured bond.
