State Police Conducting Death Investigation – Wilmington

Wilmington – The Delaware State Police is conducting a death investigation of a 20-year-old Newark man.

Preliminary investigation has determined that the incident occurred at the Howard R. Young Correctional Institution on Thursday, October 7, 2021 at approximately 10:55 p.m. when Quinn P. Annable, 20 years old from Newark, Delaware was observed by Correctional Officers in his cell suffering from a medical emergency. Correctional Officers immediately conducted life-saving measures, including CPR. New Castle County Emergency Medical Services arrived, continued life-saving measures, and transported Annable to Christiana Hospital in critical condition. Annable was being held at the time by the Department of Correction (DOC) in lieu of $20,000 cash bail. While Annable remained hospitalized his bail conditions were modified to unsecured bail and he was released from DOC custody on Friday, October 8.

On Tuesday October 12, 2021 at 7:17 a.m., Quinn Annable was pronounced dead. Annable was turned over to the Delaware Division of Forensic Science where a cause and manner of death will be determined.

This investigation is on-going by the Troop 2 Criminal Investigations Unit.
