Troopers Arrest Dover Man for Felony Assault on Law Enforcement Officer- Milford

Milford- Delaware State Police arrested 27-year-old Dashawn Toles of Dover for felony assault on a law enforcement officer after a physical altercation Sunday morning.

On September 26, 2021, at approximately 12:20 a.m., troopers responded to the area of Bay Road and Thompsonville Road for a report of a physical domestic. Troopers learned that while inside of a vehicle Toles had an argument with a 35-year-old female victim whom he struck in the face. The altercation led to Toles exiting the vehicle and walking down the roadway. Troopers located the suspect identified as Dashawn Toles walking in the area of the 1700 block of Bay Road. Upon contact Toles became disorderly and was combative. After a physical altercation with troopers, Toles was subsequently taken into custody. While in police custody, Toles remained combative and caused damage to a state police vehicle.  The trooper involved in the altercation with Toles suffered a minor injury from the incident.

Toles was then transported to Troop 3 where he was charged with the following crimes:

  • Assault 2nd Degree Injure a Law Enforcement Officer (Felony)
  • Resisting Arrest with Force (Felony)
  • Offensive Touching
  • Criminal Mischief
  • Public Intoxication

Toles was arraigned in the Justice of the Peace Court #7 and was committed to the Sussex Correctional Institution on $7,001 secured bond.
