*UPDATE-Two Suspects Arrested* Delaware State Police Conducting Homicide Investigation- Dover

Dover, DE- Delaware State Police arrested two individuals Saturday in connection to a homicide that occurred last weekend in Dover.

On Saturday, August 21, 2021, at approximately 8:57 a.m., the Delaware State Police Homicide Unit responded to the 2000 block of Dyke Branch Road, Dover, for a deceased subject located in a field. The victim, identified as Anna Hurst, 30, of Dover, was found in a cornfield with apparent gunshot wounds to the upper body. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene. Through investigative measures, Delaware State Police identified Ronald D. Suber Jr., 29, of Dover, and Tori L. Balfour, 30, of Felton, as suspects in this incident. On August 28, 2021, Delaware State Police arrested Suber and Balfour in New Castle County. They were taken into custody and transported to Delaware State Police Troop 3 where they were charged with the following crimes:

 

                         Ronald D. Suber Jr.

  • Murder First Degree (Felony)
  • Attempted Murder First Degree (Felony)
  • Two Counts- Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of a Felony (Felony)
  • Possession of a Firearm by a Person Prohibited (Felony)

Suber was arraigned in the Justice of the Peace Court #7 and committed to Sussex Correctional Institution on a $2.5 million cash bond.

 

                                Tori L. Balfour

  • Conspiracy Second Degree (Felony)

Balfour was arraigned in the Justice of the Peace Court #7 and committed to Delores J. Baylor Women’s Correctional Institution on a $2,000.00 secured bond.

This case remains under investigation by the Delaware State Police Homicide Unit.
