Search Warrant Leads to Drug Arrest- New Castle

New Castle- The Delaware State Police have arrested 40-year-old John Farrell of New Castle, following a drug investigation into the sale of illegal drugs.

The Delaware State Police Governor’s Task Force (GTF) & Probation and Parole conducted a several month drug dealing investigation on John Farrell. After obtaining substantial evidence that Farrell was involved in the sales of illegal drugs, GTF members obtained a search warrant for his residence located on Holcomb Lane, New Castle. On August 24, 2021, GTF members initiated a traffic stop in the area of Route 9 and Holcomb Lane. Farrell was taken into custody without incident and the search was executed on his residence. GTF members discovered approximately 146 grams of crack cocaine and 135 rounds of ammunition.

Farrell was transported back to Troop 2 where he was charged with the following:

  • Possession of a Controlled Substance in a Tier 3 Quantity (Felony)
  • Possession with Intent Deliver a Controlled Substance (Felony)
  • Possession of Ammunition by Person Prohibited (Felony)
  • Possession of Drug Paraphernalia

Farrell was arraigned before the Justice of the Peace Court #11 and committed to the Howard R. Young Correctional Institution on $75,000 cash bond.
