Two Individuals Arrested and One Wanted in Western Sussex County Area Thefts from Motor Vehicles- Western Sussex County

Western Sussex County, DE- Delaware State Police have arrested two individuals and continue searching for one in recent thefts from motor vehicles incidents in western Sussex County.

Between July 7 and July 13, 2021, Delaware State Police investigated multiple thefts from motor vehicles in the Clearbrooke Estates Development and Elks Road area in Seaford and the Sandy Ridge Mobile Home Park in Laurel. During the incidents, multiple items were stolen, including a bicycle, ear pods, Garmin GPS, credit/debit cards, and money.

Through investigative leads, troopers identified Amyah Deshields, 18, of Seaford, Wilbur Doughty, 32, of Seaford, and Jaquan Adkins, 30, of Millsboro, as suspects in the thefts in the Clearbrooke Estates Development and Elks Road area.

During the night hours of July 12 into July 13, 2021, Adkins committed thefts from motor vehicles in the Sandy Ridge Mobile Home Park. During this incident, fishing poles, fishing equipment, money, hand tools, and sunglasses were stolen.

On July 13, 2021, Deshields was located by troopers at the Sunrise Motel located at 22512 Sussex Highway, Seaford. She was transported to Troop 4 where she was charged with Identity Theft, Theft Under $1,500.00, Attempted Theft Under $1,500.00, Conspiracy Third Degree, and Criminal Trespass Third Degree. She was arraigned in the Justice of the Peace Court #2 and released on a $13,500.00 unsecured bond.

 

On July 13, 2021, Adkins was arrested on unrelated traffic charges and held at Sussex Correctional Institution. Later that day, Delaware State Police charged Adkins with multiple counts of Theft Under $1,500.00 where Victim is 62 Yrs or older, Theft Greater than $1,500.00 where Victim is 62 Yrs or older, Theft Under $1,500.00, Attempted Theft Under $1,500.00, Conspiracy Third Degree, and Criminal Trespass Third Degree. He was arraigned in the Justice of the Peace Court #2 and remained incarcerated at Sussex Correctional Institution on a $22,900.00 secured bond.

Wilbur Doughty has not been located and is wanted at this time. Doughty frequents the Seaford and Bridgeville, Delaware areas.
