Delaware State Police Arrest Bear Man For Gas Station Robbery- New Castle

New Castle– Delaware State Police have arrested 29-year-old Tyler Logothetis of Bear, DE, for the robbery of a gas station Monday night.

The incident occurred on July 5, 2021, at approximately 11:00 p.m., when troopers responded to the Valero, located at 891 South Dupont Highway, New Castle, DE, in reference to an armed robbery. Upon arrival, it was determined the suspect entered the business and displayed a semi-automatic rifle. The suspect pointed the gun at an employee behind the sales counter and demanded all the money. The employee complied with demands and handed the suspect an undisclosed amount of cash. The suspect then exited the store with the money and fled the scene in a tan Jeep Liberty.

Through further investigation troopers determined Tyler Logothetis was the suspect. On July 6, 2021, troopers responded to Logothetis residence. After initially refusing to exit the residence, Logothetis subsequently came out and was taken into custody without incident. Troopers located the AK-47 style weapon utilized in the robbery inside of the residence.

Logothetis was transported to Troop 2 where he was charged with the following crimes:

  • Robbery 1st Degree (Felony)
  • Possession of a Deadly Weapon During the Commission of a Felony (Felony)
  • Wearing a Disguise During the Commission of a Felony (Felony)

Logothetis was arraigned in the Justice of the Peace Court 2 and committed to the Howard R. Young Correctional Institution on $126,000 cash bond.
