Newark- Delaware State Police have arrested 24-year-old Shaidiah McNeair of Philadelphia, PA, in connection with a homicide that occurred yesterday afternoon near the Christiana Mall.

On Monday, June 28, 2021 at approximately 4:08 p.m., troopers responded to 800 Christiana Mall Road, Newark, for report of a black Ford Fusion colliding into a metal guardrail in the area of the Target. Upon arrival a 27-year-old female victim was found unresponsive in the driver’s seat with an apparent gunshot wound to the upper body. The victim was transported to Christiana Hospital where she was later pronounced deceased. Identification is pending notification to next of kin.

Further investigation determined a second subject was inside of the vehicle and exited prior to police arrival.
