Delaware State Police Conducting Shooting Investigation- Seaford

Seaford, DE– Delaware State Police are investigating a shooting incident that occurred last night in the Clearbrooke Estates Development.

On June 1, 2021, at approximately 10:26 p.m., a white 2017 Hyundai Accent occupied by a 16-year-old female from Seaford, a 17-year-old female from Seaford, and a 31-year-old male from Seaford, were traveling in the area of the 500 block of Clearbrooke Boulevard when a dark-colored sedan approached the vehicle from behind and began driving recklessly. The 17-year-old driver pulled to the shoulder to allow the vehicle to pass. As the dark-colored sedan drove by the Hyundai, it stopped, and the front seat passenger rolled down the passenger side window and shot multiple rounds at the vehicle, resulting in it being struck. No one was injured during the incident.  After the shooting, the dark-colored sedan fled the area. During the investigation, troopers discovered shell casings in the area and a bullet hole in the garage door of a residence in the 500 block of Clearbrooke Boulevard. A 72-year-old male and 68-year-old female were inside the residence when the residence was shot but were uninjured.

The suspect was described as a black male wearing a dark color hooded sweatshirt.

This incident remains under investigation by the Delaware State Police Troop 4 Criminal Investigation Unit. Anyone with information should contact Detective Z.
