Bear– The Delaware State Police have arrested 33-year-old Aaron Conyer of Newark, DE, for a robbery that occurred early this morning.
The incident occurred on May 29, 2021, at approximately 2:29 a.m., when the suspect, Aaron Conyer, approached a 24-year-old victim in the parking lot of the Royal Farms, located at 1551 Pulaski Hwy, Bear, DE, and solicited a ride in his car. During the drive, the suspect began questioning how much money the victim possessed and requested a denomination. The victim refused to comply with the suspect’s demands until the suspect threatened to shoot him and reached towards his waistband, implying he had a weapon. The suspect obtained an undisclosed amount of cash from the victim and fled on foot after the victim drove into a public parking lot. The victim was not injured as a result of the incident.
Troopers responded to the scene within minutes and obtained a physical description of the suspect. Troopers located the suspect matching the description and took Conyer into custody without incident in the area of the Wawa, located at 100 Pulaski Highway, Bear, DE, 19701.
Conyer was transported to Troop 2, where he was charged with Robbery 1st Degree (Felony). Conyer was arraigned in Justice of the Peace Court #11 and committed to Howard R. Young Correctional Institution on a $20,000 secured bond.
