Laurel- Delaware State Police have charged 37-year-old James Raab of Laurel, DE with Aggravated Menacing and related charges after he threatened a female acquaintance with a knife.
The incident occurred on May 25, 2021, at approximately 10:15 a.m., when troopers responded to the 32000 block of South Autumn Court, Laurel, DE, in reference to an aggravated menacing and disorderly subject complaint. The investigation determined a 53-year-old female victim was walking past the suspect’s (James Raab) residence when he approached the victim while displaying a knife. During the incident the suspect made racial slurs and threats toward the victim. Troopers responded to the scene and attempted to take Raab into custody. Raab resisted arrest which resulted in a taser deployment. Subsequently, Raab was successfully taken into custody. A computer search revealed Raab had an active No Contact Order with the victim.
Raab was transported back to Troop 5 where he was charged with the following crimes:
Raab was arraigned before the Justice of the Peace Court #2 and committed to the Sussex Correctional Institution on $35,000 secured bond.
