Seaford Man and Woman Arrested on Criminal Charges Following Traffic Stop Friday- Seaford

Seaford- Delaware State Police arrested 39-year-old Jason Eskridge of Seaford and 40-year-old Tina Hearn of Seaford on criminal charges following a traffic stop Friday night. 

On Friday, March 26th, 2021, at approximately 7:36 p.m., a trooper conducting a proactive patrol on Concord Road and Concord Pond Road observed a tan Honda Civic operating on the roadway with an unsafe windshield due to multiple large cracks across the entire length of the windshield. A traffic stop was conducted on the Civic in the Delux Dairy parking lot, and the trooper contacted the operator, Jason Eskridge, and passenger Tina Hearn. The trooper detected an odor of marijuana coming from inside the car, and a criminal investigation ensued. During a probable cause search of the vehicle, the following items were located:

  • 1- 3.5 inch switchblade knife
  • Drug paraphernalia
  • Approximately .03 grams of marijuana

A computer inquiry on Eskridge indicated he is a person prohibited from possessing deadly weapons.

Both Eskridge and Hearn were taken into custody without incident. A search of Hearn incident to arrest resulted in the trooper locating the following items:

  • Drug paraphernalia
  • Approximately .06 grams of Methamphetamine

Hearn and Eskridge were transported to Troop 5, where they were charged with the following crimes:

  • Possession of a Deadly Weapon by a Person Prohibited (Felony)
  • Carrying a Concealed Deadly Weapon (Felony)
  • Possession of Marijuana (Civil Violation)
  • Driving an Unsafe Motor Vehicle

Eskridge was arraigned in the Justice of the Peace Court #3 and committed to Sussex Correctional Institution on a $5,150.00 cash bond.

  • Tampering With Physical Evidence (Felony)
  • Possession of a Controlled Substance
  • Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
  • Possession of Marijuana (Civil Violation)

Hearn was arraigned in the Justice of the Peace Court #3 and released on a $2,300.00 unsecured bond.
