Delaware State Police Investigating Armed Robbery of Tobacco Shop- Wilmington

Wilmington- Delaware State Police are investigating an armed robbery of a tobacco shop that occurred late Wednesday afternoon.

On March 24, 2021, at approximately 4:21 p.m., troopers were dispatched to the Smoke Shop located at 1706 Kirkwood Highway for a robbery. The investigation determined a male suspect entered the business and approached an employee working behind the sales counter. The suspect displayed a black handgun towards the employee and demanded all the money. The employee complied and the suspect fled the store on foot with an undisclosed amount of cash. No one was injured during the incident, and no surveillance footage or pictures are available at this time.

The suspect was described as a black male, approximately 5’7″- 5’9” tall, weighing 160-175 lbs., and wearing all dark clothing with a black face mask.
